Rainstorm in Hainan

From the night of September 30, there was continuous heavy rain in most parts of Hainan. The rainstorm lasted for 7 days, the longest in the same period (196 10) since 65438. According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, the tropical low-pressure system and weak cold air jointly "promoted" the continuous heavy precipitation weather process.

He Lifu, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that this heavy precipitation can be divided into three stages: from September 30 to June 2 10, due to the influence of the tropical low-pressure peripheral cloud system centered on the central South China Sea, heavy precipitation occurred in eastern Hainan and south-central Hainan; From 3rd to 5th, the weak cold air from north to south interacted with the tropical depression centered on eastern Vietnam, which further strengthened the precipitation in most parts of Hainan. On the afternoon of the 5th, affected by the newly generated tropical depression, the heavy precipitation in Hainan will continue, but the intensity will gradually weaken.

The causes of the torrential rain that has not happened in decades

First, in the past 20 years, the average temperature of the earth has increased year by year, which has affected the circulation of the atmosphere and the circulation of water, resulting in an increase in the change of rainfall in local and short periods;

Second, urbanization has great influence, carbon emissions increase, heat island effect is obvious, and local temperature changes dramatically, which is easy to cause extreme weather such as hail and rainstorm. The frequency of local extreme precipitation has indeed increased.
