When Theresa Knorr was young, Survey found

Leviathan Press:

Every time I read such an article, I always think: Do parents have enough psychological preparation and ability to raise their offspring? Of course, reproductive impulse, as an animal instinct, cannot be avoided by human beings, but please remember that childbearing is optional. However, the reality is that people who choose to have children rarely seem to be out of "maternal instinct", and (pregnancy) is an unplanned thing for many people-once we think that there are very few things we can control in life, what will the future be like if we let them get out of control?

Teresa in this article is an extreme example, but from another perspective, it is a very common example: all life, as an individual, you step by step towards that (out of control and disorder) situation.

1993 10.20: An employee working in the hotline of America's most wanted man received a phone call from a young woman, who was in tears. This popular program has just aired two long-neglected murders for unknown reasons. Both victims were young women under the age of 20. At 1985, the first victim was found lying beside a country road in Placer County, California. Her burned body is illegible, with traces of tape on her mouth and wrist, and a long cut on her back, which seems to have been cut by a small knife.

Besides personal belongings, several diapers were found beside the body. Police officers began to worry that there might be a missing baby beside her, which might be dangerous. Subsequent autopsies showed that the victim had signs of life before being burned. But the police can't confirm her identity, and she doesn't fit all the descriptions in the missing report.

The second victim was found a year later. Her hands and feet were tied behind her back and stuffed into a box of popcorn. The body was abandoned in Lake Matisse near Tracchi, California. It was found to have rotted beyond recognition, and it was difficult to judge the cause of death. The only recognizable feature they found on her was the broken front teeth. But again, there was no missing report about this woman, and the case was shelved.

The woman on the other end of the phone told the operator that her name was Terry Noel. The story she told was so shocking that no one wanted to believe that it was her personal experience for so many years.

The two murdered women told the operator-it was her two sisters, Susan and Sheila. Their mother, Theresa Knohl, killed them in cold blood.

Terry ran away from home at the age of 15 and escaped from his mother. She wandered the streets, fighting mental illness and drug addiction. Every time she is arrested for breaking the law, she will tell the police about her experiences from childhood, just like in a horror movie. She tried to tell them that her mother was a demon and that the child who tortured her died. But no one-not even her adviser-believed her.

Until she contacted the Placer County Police Department, they found that many details told by Terry were consistent with the Jane Doe case. The Nevada police department also admitted the details of her story. Finally, someone believed her.

When Theresa was young, Vanguard

Teresa has always been a controlling person. She dropped out of school at 16 and married Clifford Sanders. After marriage, she gave birth to her eldest son Howard. She is extremely suspicious and has a strong desire for control, and has repeatedly accused Clifford of being unfaithful to her. They often quarrel, and Clifford has been violent to her more than once.

So, on July 6th, 1964, they quarreled again as usual. Clifford claims to leave Teresa who is pregnant with her daughter Sheila. Just as he was about to step out of the house, Teresa pulled the trigger on her back with a.30-30 rifle. The bullet stayed in his heart and ended his life.

Afterwards, Teresa argued that it was legitimate defense; The defense was successful and Teresa was acquitted.

After becoming a single mother with two children, she began to drink more frequently and did not forget to develop a series of relationships. Once she married a marine named Robert Knohl, and Teresa had four children with him: Susan, Robert, William and Terry. Robert then adopted Howard and Sheila and changed their surnames to Noel.

Again and again, Teresa's drunkenness, suspicion and groundless accusations drove Robert away again. 1969 left Teresa, 1970 officially divorced. Robert wanted to keep in touch with his children, but Teresa refused.

After that, Teresa was married twice, and both marriages broke down because of alcoholism and suspicion.

In her last divorce, her physical and mental state has begun to deteriorate. She kept gaining weight and began to be paranoid. She told the children to drop out of school, cut off the telephone at home and forbade them to go out.

Under the morbid desire for control, Teresa's behavior began to become more violent, neurotic and unpredictable. She began to scold the child with imaginary things and used it as an excuse to beat the child up. Her children call Teresa's tool for playing Europe "educational stick", which is a 3-foot-long board with a thickness of about 1.5 inch, and one end of the handle is wrapped with electrical tape. Whenever Teresa wants to beat them, she will ask other children to hold down their brothers and sisters who are going to be beaten.

What is even more worrying is that her abuse of children does not stop at beating. She would burn them with cigarette butts, force them to work hard in hot weather, deprive them of sleep and throw knives at them as "games". She once locked Teri in the freezer because she thought Teri had told others that Teresa didn't take care of her children at all.

But her deepest resentment and cruelest abuse are directed at her daughter. She forced her two eldest daughters Susan and Sheila into prostitution. Once, she suddenly insisted that Susan was a "witch" who put a spell on her, which caused her to gain weight. So in addition to hitting her, Teresa began to force Susan to eat and make Susan gain weight. Teresa will cook a large pot of macaroni and cheese, add a large piece of lard and force Susan to finish it. If Susan is too full, Teresa will put food in her mouth with a spoon. If Susan vomits while feeding, Teresa will also force her to eat the vomit.

There are different opinions about what happened later. Some people say that Susan escaped; It is also said that she was arrested by the police while walking in the street. But most importantly, she finally had a chance to reveal her mother's abnormal crimes to the authorities.

After Teresa learned it, she naturally denied it completely. The police investigating the case asked other children, and Teresa was in the same room. Driven by fear, they all sided with their mother and denied the fact that her mother had hit them. The authorities thought that the case had been satisfactorily solved, so Susan was returned to her mother's custody and the case was closed.

No matter what kind of torture Susan suffered before, it can't compare with what she suffered later. Teresa handcuffed her under the dining table and gagged her. Teresa kept abusing her and forcing her to eat. She even found her two sons, Robert and William, to abuse Susan (Howard had already left). This situation lasted for about two years.

There are some discrepancies in the records about what happened next. Robert claimed that Teresa gave Terry, the youngest child in the family, a pistol to aim at Susan, while Teresa went to another room. For some reason, Teri was alarmed, causing the gun in her hand to go off and hit Susan in the abdomen.

Terry said that her mother shot Susan in an argument.

Whatever the reason, Susan developed symptoms of diffuse toxic goiter shortly after she was shot, and her life was dying.

Teresa didn't call an ambulance. She asked her sons to carry their sister into the bathroom and put it in the bathtub. Teresa handcuffed her to a soap box by the bathtub. In the next few weeks, Teresa tried to take care of Susan and get her back to health.

Once Susan recovered enough to leave the bathtub, she returned to the dark life under the table. She kept begging her mother. She just wanted to leave this place and vowed not to tell anyone.

This kind of life lasted for a long time until Teresa's mood finally eased. But there must be one condition: Susan will allow her mother to take the bullet out of her body, so that Susan has no evidence against her.

Susan, who just wanted to escape, agreed. Teresa gave Susan psychotropic drugs and a lot of whisky until Susan fainted on the kitchen floor. Then, she asked Terry to be her "surgical assistant", and Teresa cut Susan's back with an art knife and dug out the bullet. After the operation, Teresa flushed the bullet into the toilet.

Susan never recovered. She woke up from extreme pain and Teresa gave her ibuprofen and antibiotics. The infection and pain made Susan hallucinate and soon fell into a coma. Teresa insisted that Susan "just pretended to faint" and left her on the kitchen floor, instructing other children to step on Susan's unconscious body. When Susan began to have incontinence, Teresa put her in diapers. When Susan's body began to turn yellow due to sepsis and jaundice, Teresa claimed that it was evidence that Susan was possessed by the devil.

She believes that the only way to get rid of the devil is to burn.

The police later investigated and found Susan's body. Tubing (foreign video website)

So Teresa taped Susan's mouth and tied her hands. She asked her sons to put Susan and some of her belongings, including diapers, in the trunk of a truck. They drove to a quiet place and took Susan to a place not far from the highway. Teresa ordered her son to pour gasoline everywhere-including their sister. Then she asked William to light a match and drove away with her sons. Susan's burning body followed her.

After Susan died, Teresa turned her anger on Sheila. Just like Susan, Teresa began to force-feed Sheila. Once, she forced a spoon into Sheila's mouth and broke two of her front teeth.

Later, Teresa insisted that Sheila had a sexually transmitted disease and passed it on to her through the toilet seat. So she kept hitting Sheila and handcuffing her under the table, just like Susan. Not only that, Sheila was forbidden to use the toilet and bathtub.

Teresa continued to beat Sheila and asked her to "repent" the act of infecting her mother with sexually transmitted diseases. When it was useless, Teresa tied Sheila behind her back and threw it into the broom closet.

Teresa kept her in a narrow broom closet for several weeks without food or water. Whenever Sheila cried and begged to let her out, Teresa turned up the TV to cover up the past.

Terry tried to secretly send water to his sister, but every time before she could act, his mother went home. Sheila became insane and kept talking about climbing to a lamp. Then fell silent. The last sound they heard from the broom room was a loud noise. A few days later, a rotten stench penetrated into the bone marrow and diffused from the broom room.

Teresa finally opened the broom closet door and Sheila's rotting body fell out.

Teresa asked her sons to help. Robert brought the biggest box he could find, a box of popcorn from the cinema where he worked. They wrapped Teresa's body in sheets and stuffed it into a box. Then put her in the trunk of the car. Terry was ordered to clean the broom closet.

At the same time, Teresa and her sons drove to a remote place and dumped Sheila's body and burned it, just as they did to Susan. But when they were about to unload the box, a policeman stopped behind them. Teresa can always use an excuse to dispel her doubts. She said her son needed to go to the bathroom. Although they smelled a foul smell, the police let them leave.

In this way, they came to the lake Matisse and left the box containing Sheila's body by the lake. Afraid of being caught, they didn't stay and set fire to the body.

Terry's story deeply shocked the police present. They can't imagine how cruel she described. But the details provided by Terry are so consistent with the crime scene. These details answer many questions that have puzzled investigators for a long time, such as why there is a diaper next to John Doe's body and why there is a wound behind the body.

Thus, in the month of 1993, the arrest warrants for William, Robert and Theresa Noel came into effect. Robert was soon found: he shot and killed a bartender in a robbery two years ago and is now serving his sentence in a prison in Nevada. William lives and works in Woodland, California.

It took a lot of effort to find and arrest Teresa. Teresa moved to Salt Lake City, Utah with her maiden name, and continued to work as a nanny in an old woman's home. Fortunately, the authorities arrived in time; She has withdrawn 4000 dollars from the bank and informed her employer that she is leaving the city. When the police arrested her, she had packed her luggage.

In exchange for testimony, all charges against Robert were dropped except one recidivist. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to three years in prison, which will be executed together with the previous sentence.

William was also sentenced to probation and compulsory treatment in exchange for his testimony.

Teresa was charged with two counts of murder, two counts of conspiracy to murder, and two special charges: multiple murders and maltreatment to death. At first Teresa refused to plead guilty, but after knowing that her son had reached an agreement with the police to testify in court, she pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty.

In June1995+1October 17, she was sentenced to life imprisonment twice. She is currently serving her sentence in California Women's Prison in Chino, California, and will be eligible for parole in 2027, when she will be nearly 8 1 year old.

Robert was released from prison 20 13.

Now, William has a job and a family and is enjoying what he calls a "normal life". 20 19 shared his story in the TV program "Evil Life is Here".

After her mother was arrested, Terry continued to share her experiences. This story appeared in many TV programs of true crime, including the most famous cold case files, until she died of heart failure on 20 1 1 at the age of 4 1.

Translator's note:

Many evidences show that Teresa Noel has borderline personality disorder (BPD). Patients are usually accompanied by long-term self-cognition and emotional instability, as well as extreme opposition between spirit and behavior. What is not mentioned in the article is that Teresa abused her daughter while helping to take care of hospital patients and the elderly in the local nursing center; Sometimes I love my son as a mother; The article mentioned that she managed to take care of her daughter Susan for a month after shooting her, which may be evidence of Teresa's borderline personality disorder. Of course, the speculation of this symptom is not to defend Teresa's evil deeds, but only to provide a different perspective for the whole story.
