Luanchuan is located in Funiu Mountain in western Henan, with geographical coordinates of111'~11201',33 39'~ 34 65438. It is adjacent to Songxian County in the east, Lushi in the west, Xixia in the south and Luoning Jian Mo in the north. The total area is 2 177 square kilometers, 78.4 kilometers long from east to west and 57.2 kilometers wide from north to south.
Luanchuan County has successively won the titles of National Health County, China Tourism Strong County, National Ecological County, National Garden County, National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration County, National Charming New Countryside Top Ten County, National Social Security Comprehensive Management Advanced County, National Safe Construction Advanced County, National Compulsory Education Development Basic Balanced County, and World Top Ten Rural Resort.

Luanchuan county is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with undulating landforms, forming three types: Zhongshan, low mountain and valley. The area above 1000 meters above sea level in Zhongshan District accounts for 49.4% of the county's total area, and the areas of low mountainous areas, valleys and rivers below 1000 meters account for 50.6% of the county's total area.
The highest point is the chicken horn tip of Longyuwan, with an altitude of 2212.5m, and the lowest point is the Yihe exit of Tang Ying Village in Tantou Town, with an altitude difference of1762.5m.. The county seat is 750 meters above sea level and is the highest county seat in the province.
