Through online inquiry, it is known that the main cause of climate warming is the excessive emission of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide). I also learned a new term "carbon emission", which is the general name or abbreviation of greenhouse gas emission. The most important gas in greenhouse gases is carbon dioxide, so the word carbon is used as a representative. Although it is not accurate, as the fastest way for people to understand it, it is simply to understand "carbon emissions" as "carbon dioxide emissions". 1 (Search for information and find a method to calculate personal carbon emissions.
First of all, I want to think about: which aspects of our family will produce more carbon dioxide in daily life, and how to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide produced.
In order to solve these two problems, I searched online and was surprised to find a calculator that can calculate personal carbon emissions. It is supervised by Beijing Forestry Carbon Sequestration Office. The formula in the personal carbon emission calculator developed by the calculator is based on the formula formulated by the United Nations and some environmental protection organizations, and uses the local statistical data and conversion coefficient in China, which makes the calculation more in line with China's national conditions and more accurately reflects a person's actual carbon emission, and lists our basic necessities and conversion coefficients.
For example, clothing (the number of clothes purchased, the number of washing powder used), food (the number of smoking, the number of drinking white wine, the number of drinking beer, the consumption of meat and food), housing (electricity, gas, natural gas, coal burning, central heating, wood for decoration, aluminum for decoration), and transportation (planes, ships, trains, subways, buses). And each item of carbon dioxide consumed has a corresponding calculation formula.
Wow, that's great ~ I only need to count the consumption of goods in our family for more than one year, and I can substitute it into the formula of carbon emission calculator to calculate the carbon dioxide emission of the whole family for one year.
Here are some calculation methods:
