Historical evolution of Duer township

Toure Township was a pure pastoral area at the beginning of liberation. 1953 when the government was established, the people's government of the third district of Fuyun county was established with Durge township as the center, with jurisdiction over six townships. 1958 when the commune was established, it was composed of two, three and four townships, and was named Durge Commune because it was based in Durge. During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed Yonghong People's Commune. 1978, the original name was restored during the place name census. Du Ge is Mongolian, which means stirrup, and it is named after the shape of the hills on the south bank.
