Summary of experience in art sketching 1
On the evening of April 12, 20xx, when students came to the main building with their luggage, and when buses drove into the school, I know that the long-awaited sketching has begun.
After a night and a morning train ride, we finally arrived in Suzhou at noon the next day and met our tour guide during our sketching internship. After getting on the bus and looking at the beautiful street scenes in the old city of Suzhou, a lot of fatigue disappeared. The first stop is the Lion Grove, one of the four major gardens. Maybe it was because we left the campus, or maybe it was because we were depressed on the train for too long. In short, we were very happy at this first stop. We jumped up and down on the rockery and walked around the garden and outside. It was nothing like what we had just done. People who sit on hard seats for 14 hours. Although we are shopping, unlike tourists, we are not just taking a look and taking photos. We also consciously observe the shape, structure, materials, etc. of the building to feel the cultural atmosphere of the building.
In Suzhou, the first thing you feel is the difference in environment. It is not as hot as expected, but it is still higher than the temperature in Qinhuangdao. The biggest difference is the difference in the architecture. In my opinion, the ancient buildings in Suzhou are not only residential buildings, but also an existence full of culture and art. The design, structure and courtyard space layout of its building all show its profound cultural connotation and strong sense of history. During the inspection of Shantang Street and Nanxun Water Town, I found that the buildings in these places are mostly made of blue bricks and black tiles. They are small and light, low-rise and high-density, well-proportioned, and most of them are built along the river, forming a kind of street in front and river behind. The unique water town style.
In Shanghai, a super first-tier city and the economic center of China, what makes me sigh the most is the prices in Shanghai, which are simply astonishingly expensive. I remember that morning, I saw many young people crossing the zebra crossing in a hurry at an intersection in Lujiazui. Some even started to jog, even though the crossing time was still long. The time was 8:50, and they must have all rushed to work. This scene suddenly made me feel their work pressure. I seemed to be able to tell that the lives of these young people were not easy. This is the center of Shanghai, surrounded by skyscrapers such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, World Financial Center, and Shanghai International Financial Center. The people who can work here must be very good, but they are still running, so I think people who are better than us are better than us. We work hard, so why should we be lazy?
When we arrived at the Bund, it was dark. As soon as I arrived at the Bund, I was struck by the bright neon lights around me. The Bund was bustling with excitement. I stood on the Bund, leaning on the railing, admiring the gorgeous river view and watching the colorful cruise ships passing by. , blowing the cool river breeze, it is really comfortable, and I truly feel that "the lights are on the Bund River at the beginning, and the river is sparkling and singing along the bank". It is said that you can feel the charm of architecture from all over the world on the Bund. This time I really saw it. The architectural styles along the Huangpu River are diverse, including British classical style, Baroque architecture, Gothic and East Indian style. So many buildings with different styles are really a feast for the eyes. These buildings are equipped with bright neon lights, which makes people feel dazzled.
On the seventh day, we came to Fuyang Wencun. It took more than an hour on the highway and more than an hour on the mountain road. It lived up to the beautiful scenery. There was no bustling and noisy city, but only the deep mountains. Simplicity and tranquility, blue sky and white clouds. Teacher Wang Shu’s design of Fuyang Wencun has no intertwined spider webs of wires and follows the principle of local materials, resulting in such a unique style. The ingenious combination of raw stone, rammed earth, concrete and white walls, against the background of the blue sky and mountains, It forms a very quiet and beautiful picture, making people feel comfortable.
In the process of sketching in Hongcun, I really felt what the countryside in the painting is and what Huizhou architecture is. It is surrounded by mountains and water, with green bricks, small pieces of black tiles, horse head walls, carved beam windows, cornices, hanging corridors, exquisite carvings, and curved eaves. It is amazing and makes people feel the architectural art of Huizhou folk houses. of sophistication. In Hongcun, you can see sketching students everywhere. On the edge of Nanhu Lake, they set up a bench, picked up a drawing book, and painted the beautiful scenery in front of them. It was very artistic. Whenever I walk in Hongcun, I feel surrounded by art. In Hongcun, the food that students complain about the most is probably the food. In fact, I think it’s okay. Maybe it’s just the difference in taste, the difference between the north and the south. In my opinion, this is a good dish in the mountains, but it’s humid and muggy. I'm still a little uncomfortable with the weather.
The 16-day sketching internship was very tiring, but also very fulfilling. It broadened my horizons, saw a lot of things I had never seen before, and felt different customs. In short, every glance was a surprise. , every place is a scenery, everything is worth it, thank you for the experience.
Summary of experience in art sketching 2
In April in East China, the atmosphere of defeat condensed in the remaining winter quietly melts, and a lush spring color becomes rich. The sixteen-day sketching internship ended. The journey was short but beautiful and unforgettable.
Tiredness during the journey is indeed inevitable, but the harmonious collective atmosphere is also a rare life experience.
The place where I stayed the longest and made the deepest impression is probably Hongcun in Anhui. Here we have a more profound appreciation of the charm of classical architecture. The buildings in Hongcun are mainly residential buildings and private gardens, as well as public facilities such as academies and ancestral halls. The building group is relatively complete. All types of buildings pay attention to carvings - wood carvings, brick carvings and stone carvings are exquisite and have extremely high artistic value. Most of the streets and lanes in the village are built along the water, and the houses are also arranged around the moon marsh. Most of the residences have two courtyards, and some families also introduce Shen water into the residence to form a water courtyard and open a fish pond. Hongcun ancient residential complex is a typical representative of Huizhou architecture. This provides a source of inspiration and a basis for our subsequent architectural design.
The short study tour is over. I would like to thank the school and teachers for providing us with such an opportunity to get close to nature and grow rapidly in practice. Sketching has cultivated our ability to observe and capture objects, design expression ability, and The beautiful insights have a clearer understanding of their respective professional knowledge and future directions, which will be of great help to future studies and even employment!
Summary of experience in art sketching 3
Spring has come quietly, bringing vitality, hope, vitality and color. The days of sketching are beautiful and unforgettable for me. Lion Grove - Humble Administrator's Garden - Suzhou Museum - Nanxun Ancient Town - Shanghai Bund - Fuyang Dongqiao Town Cultural Village - China Academy of Art Xiangshan Campus - Hongcun, these sixteen days of collecting made me marvel at China I have benefited a lot from the beauty of the landscape and the greatness of Chinese architecture.
What impressed me the most during these sixteen days was the Wencun and Fuyang Dongqiao Town designed by Master Wang Shu, China’s first winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize (equivalent to the Nobel Prize in architecture). China Academy of Art Xiangshan Campus, and Anhui Hongcun, a sketching base.
Twenty-four new residential buildings in Wencun, Dongqiao Town, Fuyang are built along the stream, with picturesque scenery. The mud used for plastering the exterior walls was crushed and screened by the village, and then transported to the laboratory of the China Academy of Art for chemical formulation. The rammed wall was very tough, smooth, and is said to be very breathable. Most of the 24 residential buildings use Hangzhou gray stone exterior walls and old tiles, all of which are made from local materials. This is the characteristic of Wang Shu's works. He once said: "Adapting measures to local conditions must not only be combined with the traditional cultural factors of the village, but also use local materials as much as possible." He has always advocated that village construction should be "built naturally" and use appropriate materials and methods to achieve it. Concepts of modern life such as energy saving, insulation, recycling and so on are the wooden curtain wall on the left and the rammed earth wall on the right. The two decorative columns under the eaves of the middle house look like they are made of poured concrete, but they are actually steel columns coated with a layer of concrete. The house is built in an open style, and all partitions are completed with such wooden curtain walls. This is very similar to ancient dwellings. Another characteristic of Wang Shu's works: retro yet simple, continuing tradition without losing a sense of modernity. The scenery outside the window is like a frozen still life. The layouts of the 24 houses are completely different, and the views out there are ever-changing.
The Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art is located in Zhuantang Town, surrounded by green mountains and green waters. The Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art is a bold innovation and practice of large-scale architectural design by Wang Shu. The campus master plan attaches great importance to the artistic conception of the overall campus environment and the protection of the ecological environment. It successfully integrates the delicacy and spatial language of traditional Chinese gardens into modern architecture, making the aesthetic interest between the natural landscape and architecture of traditional Chinese culture unique. can be sublimated in the artistic conception.
In the design of the Xiangshan campus, Wang Shu refined the line beauty of Chinese paintings and gave it modern characteristics. The campus buildings have a unified atmosphere thanks to the continuous use of lines. The three-dimensional shape of the single school building embodies the line language of traditional painting. From the curve of the inflected roof to the grid column shape of the facade, to the winding corridors, lines are used in the entire Xiangshan Campus building. The lines are not trivially spliced, but take into account the overall campus planning, allowing linear trails to run through the building, giving the building a more contemporary feel. The lines also highlight the characteristics of southern architecture and express the understanding of traditional painting techniques.
His architecture is more like Western modernism wrapped in traditional materials—Chinese modern architecture in the eyes of Westerners. Extracting some elements from the folk houses in the south of the Yangtze River and integrating them with modern space, the garden layout often has many traces of tradition, and the processing techniques are both eastern and western.
Hongcun is a beautiful and quiet place. It is backed by beautiful green mountains, clear streams pass through the village, and hundreds of residential buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties stand quietly. The tall and majestic horse head wall has a proud and leering expression, as well as a falling and flying charm; the gray roof walls have been painted with mottled lines by time, giving them a dignified and calm effect; there are also clan ancestral halls, academies, archways and Genealogy. When you walk into a residential house, you will see beautiful brick carvings, stone carvings, and wood carving decorations. Door covers, patios, gardens, leaky windows, beams, screens, and furniture all silently display careful design and exquisite craftsmanship.
Hongcun is a typical example of Huizhou architecture and the crystallization of Huizhou architectural wisdom. It has the following characteristics:
Respect the natural landscape environment. In ancient Huizhou, the topography, landform, water flow and wind direction of the village sites were carefully considered. They were often located close to mountains and rivers, with beautiful environment, reasonable layout, smooth transportation, and buildings blended into the mountains and rivers.
Beautiful appearance integrity. The group of houses is integrated into one, and the unique horse head wall is closed with a high wall. The horse head is at an angle. The wall and horse head are arranged in an orderly manner. Green mountains, green water, white walls and black tiles are the main features of Huizhou architecture. One, showing elegance in simplicity.
More flexible multi-entry courtyard layout. The units of the building plan layout are courtyards with the patio as the center, high houses, deep wells, and halls, which are flexibly arranged according to function, scale, and topography, and are full of rhythm.
Exquisitely detailed decoration. The art of "three carvings" (brick carving, stone carving, and wood carving) in Huizhou culture is breathtaking. Brick carving door covers, stone carving windows, and wood carving pillars are integrated with the building, which is a major feature of Huizhou architecture.

The inspiration of this sketch on architectural design:
1. Architectural design needs to pay attention to the grandeur and safety of the building.
2. Pay attention to the humanistic color and decorative beauty of the building, and consider its regional cultural relationship.
3. Pay attention to the garden cultural sentiment of architectural environment design and reflect the harmonious humanistic relationship between man and nature.
4. Consider whether the design method of Wencun in Dongqiao Town, Fuyang can be extended to the whole country to build a new socialist countryside with Chinese characteristics, integrating rural buildings with natural and cultural landscapes to provide a more livable living environment. .
The art sketching internship not only taught us aesthetics, but also taught us what cultural integration is.
When we return to campus, we are clearer about our future learning goals, have a deeper sense of beauty, and have many new understandings of people and objects. When we observe from different angles and analyze from different positions, we will get different results. We need multiple perspectives. Look at the problem carefully and solve it better!
