Why do you feel that it rains more in rural areas than in cities?

In fact, from the meteorological point of view, the amount of rainfall has little to do with urban and rural areas. In fact, rainfall is affected by many aspects and factors, such as latitude, temperature, topography, wind speed and direction, clouds, atmospheric flow and so on. So in China, the south is wetter than the north, the east coast is wetter than the northwest inland, and the mountainous hills are wetter than the urban plains.

This is because rural areas are generally in mountainous and hilly areas. When the warm and humid airflow meets the mountainous area, it will rise with the elevation of the terrain, and the temperature at high altitude will drop to form rainfall. Cities are built in relatively flat places, warm and humid airflow will not encounter cold air convection, and rainfall will be less than that in mountainous areas!

Generally speaking, in areas with high temperature and humidity, there is more rainfall because of the rich water vapor in the air. In the case of similar water vapor conditions, the rainfall in mountainous areas is much more than that in cities and plains. For example, the average annual rainfall in Huashan, Shaanxi Province is 900 mm, while the average annual rainfall in xi 'an, which is not far from it and at the same latitude as Huashan, is only 580 mm; Ningbo, which is located in the coastal plain, has an average annual rainfall of 1375 mm, while Huangshan, which is almost at the same latitude, has an average annual rainfall of 2544 mm

This shows that the rainfall is not only related to the water vapor content in the air, but also depends on the intensity of the upward movement of the air. Rain is falling from the sky. If there is no rising air to transport water vapor to the sky, it will not condense into clouds and cause rain. The stronger the upward movement, the faster and more the water vapor condenses, and the greater the rainfall.

The terrain in mountainous areas creates favorable conditions for the upward movement of air: on the one hand, under the irradiation of sunlight, the temperature in mountainous areas rises faster than that in plain areas, which is easy to produce strong convection upward movement; On the other hand, warm and humid air will be forced to rise into the air when it encounters a hillside during transmission, causing strong convection. Especially in windward hillside areas, the upward movement of air is stronger and the rainfall is more abundant. So the precipitation in mountainous areas is more than that in cities and plains.

Why do you feel that there is more rain in rural areas than in cities?

My view on this issue is that it may be related to the heat island effect.

I wonder if you have heard of it? Because the greening degree of plants in cities is much lower than that in rural areas, and they are all reinforced concrete tall buildings. So when the weather is hot, the temperature is often much higher than outside the city. And when the weather is cold, it will be much lower than the temperature outside the city. Because the city's self-regulation ability is much worse.

Everyone is wondering how the rain is formed. Rain is condensed by the intersection of hot and cold steam. If the temperature in the city is very high when it is hot, and the warm current from the Pacific Ocean encounters high temperature, instead of evaporating faster, how can it rain?

According to this principle, there will be more rainfall in cities than in rural areas in winter, but most of the rainfall in China is in hot weather and less in cold seasons.

Maybe there are many rural wetlands.

Professionals can't explain this problem clearly, and there seems to be no scientific basis.

I think it's just a personal feeling to ask this question, including my own feeling that there is much rain in the countryside.

Why do we rural people feel this way? Let me talk about my personal opinion and speculation.

First, it's raining. We are on the same day, and the distance between the countryside and the city is actually not far. Far 100 kilometers, near the suburbs only 10 kilometers. It rains in the country and it rains in the city. Everyone knows that rural people depend on the weather for food and work outdoors. Moreover, the city is an indoor operation, and it doesn't matter much if it rains.

Rural people think that rain is mostly a psychological effect and a boring mentality. Not if it doesn't rain in the countryside. Too much rain will also cause losses to agricultural production, especially to aquaculture. For example, too much rain in the rural areas of southern China in spring, summer, autumn and winter will cause losses to farmers.

It is a good thing to have more rain in spring ploughing. Everyone can rake the fields and sow seeds, but as we all know, too much rain will affect one's mood, and too much rain will affect the production progress of farmers. For the sake of production progress, farmers are desperate to work in the rain.

It's time to harvest rice in summer, and the heavy rain for several days washed away the farmers' hopes, and the ones that didn't wash away fell to the ground.

Autumn is the season when fruits and vegetables are ripe. Autumn rain will cause fruits and vegetables to be immature, not sweet, or rot directly.

Rain in winter will affect the cooling, and farmers can't go out to work in a cold and humid environment. No job, no income.

So when it should rain and when it shouldn't rain in the countryside is very particular, but we can't control it! I'm resigned to my fate!

You also said feelings, right?

Yes, this is partly because of feelings. Since ancient times, living in the countryside depends on the weather and is particularly sensitive to the weather. I pay attention to the weather changes every day. I have a deep understanding of regular meetings. Every time I go home, I find that one thing my father must do every day is to watch the weather forecast. Because the weather has a great influence on them. Living in the city, you are not so sensitive to the weather. Even if it rains frequently, as long as it doesn't affect your life too much, the result won't affect your attention. You will only notice the weather when you call home to chat with your parents.

The other half is due to objective reasons. Because there are many vegetation and hills and mountains in rural areas, it is easy to accumulate moisture, and the natural precipitation and frequency are more than those in cities.

Because of the leisure life in the country, you will have a lot of time to observe whether it rains or not.

But in cities, even if it rains, it will stop after work.

Pay attention to TA

Generally speaking, it doesn't rain in cities or villages, mainly because of the movement and accumulation of clouds, but the movement of clouds is also related to the terrain. There are many mountains and hills in the village, so relatively speaking, some villages have more rain. In the same climate and terrain, cities are more prone to rain than rural areas. Because the urban heat island effect is relatively strong, the convection is remarkable.

But as a rural person. You can understand it literally. Why do you say feeling? Because rural people want to work in the open air, they hope it won't rain all year round, because if it rains, they can't do the work in the field. And too much rain will have an impact on crops. If it rains a lot, only the rural people are crying and crying, worrying that the crops will not be harvested, because the rations are all in the crops, why is there rural insurance? The country still attaches great importance to agriculture. Which city do you see where people can't go to work because of the rain? Because I am in the office, I don't have to worry about rain. Don't worry, there is no salary because of the rain. This is why we can say that there is a lot of rain in the countryside. In fact, from a scientific point of view, this is mainly related to the terrain and has little to do with urban and rural areas.

Because there are many trees.

Personally, I think that rainfall is related to the region, to the climate of the region, and not directly to whether it is rural or urban.

We usually feel a lot of rain in the countryside. That's because the pace in the countryside is slow. Once it rains, people just stay at home, don't go to work, don't go out, and there are no other entertainment activities to pass these rainy days.

If this person has nothing to do, don't just stare at the rain outside the window. Naturally, it is raining heavily. Why is it still raining? Why don't you know how to stop? I feel moldy.

To put it bluntly, people are too idle, just staring at the rain, naturally feel a lot of rain. This is just a feeling in our hearts, it doesn't really rain a lot.

People who live in the city, whether it rains or hails, you still have to go to work, and you still have to go out and do what you should do.

What's the rain like for people living in cities? Because of the fast pace of life, there is no time to pay attention. And everyone is very busy, it doesn't rain, and many times they just ignore it.

Once before, it rained for two days, and I didn't even notice it was raining. Someone reminded me to think about it before I knew it was raining. At that time, I accidentally got caught in the rain, but I was in such a hurry that I didn't notice whether it rained or not, and I didn't even know when it stopped.

This is a visual error caused by the combination of people's self-awareness and psychological expectation.

Leisure on rainy days in rural areas has infinitely magnified the "rain" from people's hearts.

People in the city are very busy, but they just ignore the "rain" and unconsciously narrow the scope. Because many people don't have so much time and energy to pay attention to whether it rains, how long it rains, how much rainfall it has, and so on.

I was impressed by everything. For example, if the pace of rural life is not so fast, you will pay attention to the things around you, and you will feel this way.
