Is there water in Mentougou, Beijing?
On July 3rd1day, a once-in-a-century rainstorm occurred in Beijing and its surrounding areas, which caused many railway lines to collapse and accumulate water, and affected the normal operation of some trains. Among them, Mentougou District in Beijing was seriously affected by the disaster, flooded, covered with mud, branches left on the road, and vehicles broke down, which seriously affected people's lives.
Mentougou District is located in the southwest of Beijing, which is distributed in an east-west belt, with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast, and the mountainous area accounts for 97% of the whole district. The urban area is on the edge of the West Sixth Ring Road and the extension line of Chang 'an Avenue, only 20 or 30 kilometers away from Tiananmen Square, but there are continuous peaks in the west of the urban area, which extend to the west for more than 60 kilometers and reach Zhuolu, Laishui and Huailai in Hebei.
These peaks are the remaining veins of Taihang Mountain. Most of the mountains are high, and there are more than 60 peaks with an altitude of 1500m. Dongling Mountain, the highest peak in Beijing, is in the westernmost part of Mentougou, with an altitude of 2303 meters, which has surpassed the Five Mountains.
The terrain of "high in the west and low in the east" is easy to gather precipitation, which makes the flood disaster in Mentougou District frequent. When you open the map, you can see that Yongding River and its tributaries run through Mentougou, and most of the valley water will gather in these two Hanoi.
Causes of rainstorm in Beijing
1. Abundant water vapor condition: The low-pressure circulation weakened by Typhoon Du No.5 brought enough water vapor, which merged with the southeast airflow around the subtropical high. With the long-distance transportation of water vapor from Typhoon Kanu No.6, the two water vapors merged and headed for the North China Plain.
2. Blockage of high-pressure system: The subtropical high and the northern continental high ridge are located in the east and north of the precipitation system respectively, and the two high-pressure systems merge to form a high-pressure "dam", which blocks the forward movement of the precipitation system and leads to long-term heavy rainfall in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
3. Uplift of mountain terrain: The existence of Taihang Mountain and Yanshan Mountain forced the transported water vapor to be uplifted by the topographic dynamics in front of the mountain, and more water vapor condensed into rain, which enhanced the intensity of rainfall.
