Dayushu Village, where Dayushu is located, is an ancient town in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it is also an ancient town under Kangxi. The East-West Street in the ancient town was then the Jingsui Post Road, which was used by both officials and businessmen. Emperors, businessmen and travelers often pass by here. The title of East-West Street is still in use today, which is unique in the local border village. The opening of the post road promoted the prosperity of the market. The Qing Dynasty has become an important town for merchants, and it is also a place for cultural exchanges between Shanxi merchants and Mongolian merchants. To the south of a West Street Road, there are three big elms, which grow in a northwest-southeast arrangement. According to the expert appraisal of ancient and famous trees, the three trees are the same age, about 5 10 years ago, and they are still flourishing after vicissitudes. The largest tree in the middle is about 6 meters in diameter at breast height, 25 meters in height and 30 meters in crown. This tree is the legendary big elm that Kangxi visited the west to shelter from the rain. The back prints and horse-tying marks on the trunk are clearly visible so far, and they are known as "what a big elm"! This tree and this place are named after the emperor's golden words. There is a small hole above the south side of this tree, which is a natural barometer. Whenever water drops leak, there will be rain. Local people arrange farming activities accordingly, which is equivalent to modern "weather forecast". Worshipers often cover trees with red strips of cloth, and incense burners and offerings are placed under the trees. There is a small brick temple on the branch above the tree and a music building under the tree, which has always been the place where traditional temple fairs are held. A plant in the northwest has a branch that bends and stretches downward. Its head looks like that of a dragon, and its eyes are clear. Moved by people, it is called the "old faucet". Sometimes it is shrouded in light arc at night, which is very magical. This big elm tree is regarded as a "sacred tree" by local people. When the family encounters disasters and diseases, they often come to worship the blessing party under the tree. It is really "a dream around the big elm tree, full of stories and mysteries."
