It is now much more convenient to go up and down the mountain. There are buses from Tianwai Village Square to Zhongtianmen and a cableway from Zhongtianmen to Nantianmen. It only takes 1.5 hours at most to go down the mountain. If you are climbing at night, it is best to start climbing at 12 o'clock, and watch the sunrise at around 5:30 at the top.
