Lukou town's natural resources

This town is rich in natural resources. The main agricultural products are wheat, soybeans, barley, broad beans, mung beans, red taro, rice and so on. Cash crops include peanuts, sesame, cotton, rape, tobacco, Amorpha fruticosa, sweet potato and various fruits and vegetables.

The town's natural resources have an outstanding advantage, that is, it is rich in water resources, which can raise 20,000 mu of water surface, of which Jiaogang Lake has 1.89 million mu for farming. Jiaogang Lake is an inland closed freshwater lake in maoji District and Yingshang County of Huainan City, with a total area of 50 square kilometers. Jiaogang Lake is surrounded by water, and the annual water depth is about 1.7 meters. Wild aquatic plants, reeds, gorgonian, water chestnut, plankton, snails, mussels and other benthic animals are very rich. Wild ducks, herons, seagulls and other waterfowl inhabit and breed on the lake all the year round, and migratory birds such as geese often gather along the lake with the changes of seasons. It constitutes various food chains, and lakes are fertile and vast natural fishing grounds.
