How difficult is it to take the computer postgraduate entrance examination?

As a student majoring in computer science and technology, I think the most difficult part of computer postgraduate entrance examination lies in the huge knowledge of specialized courses and the huge base of computer undergraduates. I will explain them separately below.

Test what?

The main subjects of computer postgraduate entrance examination are: English (100), mathematics (150), politics (100) and specialized courses (150). Among them, the specialized courses are four donkey kong: data structure, computer composition principle, operating system and computer network. For me in the computer department, I should not be too impressed by these four courses.

Data structure: the main tests are linear table, stack, queue and array, tree and binary tree, graph, search and sorting, and it is also the textbook catalogue of data structure C language version. I think data structure still needs more hands-on practice. After all, the algorithm can be written by yourself, without looking. Understanding is one thing, and self-use is another.

Group planning: it mainly tests computer system, data representation and operation, memory hierarchy, instruction system, CPU, bus and IO system, and it is also a textbook catalogue of computer composition principles. I think the concept of grouping is still the most complicated, and the key point is to understand the composition structure and basic working principle of each component in the computer.

Operating system: it mainly includes process, memory, file and IO management, and it is also the textbook catalogue of computer operating system. I think the key is to use basic principles to analyze and solve practical problems, or to do more with hands and operations.

Computer network: it mainly includes computer network architecture, physical layer, network layer and transport layer. It is also a catalogue of teaching materials for computer networks. This part focuses on mastering the basic concepts and principles, including some commonly used algorithms, and also needs hands-on practice.

With who?

At present, the computer major (computer science and technology) is one of the majors with the largest number of undergraduates, which leads to a corresponding increase in the number of postgraduate students. Moreover, many students in basic subjects will cross the exam to computer majors, such as mathematics, physics and so on. Therefore, you should also be prepared for the postgraduate entrance examination.

For the choice of school, if the time is loose, for example, you began to prepare for your sophomore year, then I recommend you to set a slightly higher target school; But if time is tight, you should choose a bigger university.

Some schools will also conduct written tests on multiple subjects, and some even have computer tests. I think the computer-based exam is the most challenging. After all, there is a high demand for your practical ability, which also increases the difficulty of candidates' review to some extent.

In a word, computer postgraduate entrance examination is really difficult, no matter the knowledge content or the number of undergraduates. But as long as you are fully prepared and apply reasonably, it is also very promising to be admitted to graduate school. Wish you success!
