Are succulents suitable for wet or dry environments?
Attention should be paid to the maintenance of succulents:
1, illumination: Most succulents like sunlight. If the sun shines directly for more than 5 hours every day, succulents will be beautiful. If you don't have this condition, you can just spend two hours in the sun. Attention should be paid to the intensity of sunlight, which is strong when spring and autumn alternate, and it should be shaded appropriately. In addition, at present, most succulents are cultivated and propagated in greenhouses, and there should be a gradual process after returning to China, otherwise it is easy to get sunburned. Generally, Nanyang terrace or terrace is the most suitable. It should be noted that succulents are not suitable to be placed in front of the computer or at the bedside.
2. Ventilation environment: Air circulation is very important for succulents. Like alpine succulents, it is expected to be in a sub-health state in a closed environment for a long time, and even die in severe cases. Open the window to let the air circulate, or use a small fan in hot summer. Of course, it can also be planted directly outdoors if conditions permit.
3. Temperature: The most suitable temperature for the growth of succulents is 15~25℃. When the temperature is higher than 35℃ in summer, some succulents will go to sleep in summer. When the temperature reaches above 40℃, it is very dangerous. We must find ways to strengthen ventilation, otherwise it will be easy to suffocate. When the temperature is lower than 5℃ in winter, it will also stop growing. When the low temperature reaches 0℃ or below, frostbite or freezing will occur.
4. Soil: Most succulents like sandy soil. The first thing to do after buying home is to check the soil. If it is particularly corrosive yellow or black soil, it must be replaced as soon as possible. Conventional soil cultivation methods: soft soil 1 (peat soil and coconut bran), sand 1 (coarse sand) 1: 1. If there is a small restaurant burning honeycomb coal near home, you can also pick up some pieces and use them as coarse sand. If there are some sawdust mixed with soil and some flower fertilizer, the plants will flourish more.
5. Watering: it can be quantified regularly at the initial stage, once every 5-7 days in spring and autumn, once every 0/5-20 days in summer and once every 20-30 days in winter. In the future, you can slowly change the watering method according to your own understanding of plants. You can judge whether it is necessary to water by observing the state of plants. For example, leaves become soft and wrinkles appear, which are all information of water shortage. At this time, a small amount of water can be added to the plants. After watering in summer, you should pay special attention to avoid exposure to the sun, which is easy to suffocate plants.
6. Be sure to pay attention to pests and diseases.
Summer and autumn alternate, and when the weather turns from hot to cold, it is a season prone to pests and diseases. Generally, when the weather turns from cold to warm and from hot to cold, pests and diseases are most likely to break out suddenly, which usually means that it is easier to break out when summer turns to autumn and winter turns to spring, and eggs will hatch in large quantities during these two periods.
Among them, there is a kind of pest widely distributed, which is also a headache for the majority of flower lovers, and that is "mealybug" (below). In order not to quote disgusting online pictures, I drew them casually. It shouldn't be that easy to give people goose bumps. I hate bugs covered in powder, such as moths. As the saying goes, geese keep their voices and insects keep their powder. ...
The mealybug is a small juice-sucking insect of the family mealybug of Homoptera. The body surface is covered with white or milky wax, which looks like white powder. This HOMOPTERA insect is full of some notorious pests. Such as scale insects, aphids, whiteflies and so on. The flower friends are familiar with, belonging to Homoptera. These insects are characterized by:
1, slow action (speed 0)
2. Like to secrete waxy, powdery and colloidal substances (Magic 3)
3. Thick shell and strong drug resistance (armor 2)
4. They all rely on needle-like mouthparts to suck plant juice for a living (healing medicine 1).
However, fortunately, these little monsters are not BOSS-level, and they can be done with a little effort.
