Weather in Li Anyun

"The fog locks the mountains, and the sky is connected with water." A couplet from Gulangyu Island, Xiamen, Fujian. This is a pair of palindromes, also known as "inverted couplet" and "shutter pair", which is both literary and artistic, with unique ideas and ingenious combinations, and has a unique interest in reading.

Couplets mean foggy, and you can't see the distant peaks clearly; Water and sky are the same color, and Tianshui is connected. Xiamen Gulangyu yufupu is located in the middle of the sea. There are mountains and rivers on the island, with vast smoke and vast sky.

At the end of Ming Dynasty, Liu, a famous prostitute in the south of the Yangtze River, supported the struggle against the Qing Dynasty and the restoration of sight. After Ming's death, she hanged herself for it. Someone wrote a palindrome praising her:

Among them, Liu,

It is like a willow tree.

In view of Liu's noble moral integrity, he is "the best among Liu people".

In the Qing Dynasty, there was a famous restaurant in Beijing called "Tianranju". Emperor Qianlong once enjoyed delicious food in the building. When he is a little tipsy, he feels like a guest in the sky. So, with a stroke of his pen, he wrote such a palindrome:

Guests live in a natural place,

It was a heavenly guest.

This conjunction means reading forward and reading backward, and the two meanings are interrelated and natural.
