Judging the maturity of wheat

Wheat maturity is divided into milk maturity, wax maturity and complete maturity, and the harvest of wheat is determined according to the maturity of grain. Among them, the mature wheat leaves turn yellow, the grains harden and show the true color of the variety, the water content is below 20%, and the water content of the stem is 20-30%. After the mature stage, the nutrients in wheat grains will flow back to the straw, resulting in the decrease of grain weight.

Early stage of wax ripening: the back of the grain is yellow-white, the ventral groove is yellow-green, most leaves begin to turn yellow, and the grain can be easily squeezed out with fingers, and the substances contained in the grain can be twisted into strips.

Mid-wax maturity: the seeds are all yellow, and the top of the stem is all yellow, so it is easy to pinch off the seeds with your fingers;

At the end of wax ripening: the plants are all yellow, the stems are elastic, and there is no trace when you pinch the seeds with your fingers.

Generally, the best harvesting time after wheat ripening is 9 ~ 1 1 in the morning and 16 ~ 18 in the afternoon.
