The rich water sources in the main branches and tributaries of the Yangtze River can meet the water demand of rice.

The local climate is suitable (rainy and hot at the same time, with sufficient light and heat), the soil is fertile (alluvial soil, paddy soil), the terrain is flat and open, and the water is sufficient, which is beneficial to the cultivation of cotton and rice.
