Composition of world weather watch
World weather watch is divided into three levels: World Meteorological Center, Regional Meteorological Center and National Meteorological Center. World weather watch's operational system consists of the following three systems: ① Global Observing System (GOS). By the end of 1980, there were 92 18 ground stations, 835 high-altitude stations, 9 fixed-point marine meteorological stations, 5 stationary meteorological satellites, 2 polar-orbiting satellites, thousands of ships voluntarily undertaking ground observation, and some flights that could provide meteorological observation reports on routes. Its task is to provide basic meteorological observation data and environmental observation data from all over the world for members' daily business and research work. ② Global Telecommunication System (GTS). It consists of three-level telecommunication lines (trunk line and its branches, regional telecommunication network and national telecommunication network) and three-level telecommunication centers (World Meteorological Center, regional telecommunication hub and National Meteorological Center) (see meteorological information transmission). Its task is to collect and distribute the basic meteorological observation data of the global observation system, and forward the output products (including processed data, live maps, forecast maps and alarms, etc.). ) World Meteorological Center and Regional Meteorological Center. ③ Global Data Processing System (GDPS). The main task is to provide members with basic meteorological data through the World Meteorological Center, Regional Meteorological Center, National Meteorological Center and other institutions.
