Matters needing attention in raising geese

Raising geese in summer has many advantages, and the climate in this season is more suitable. Summer geese usually brood at the end of May, and the survival rate of brooding can reach over 98%. Summer geese can be kept for about 60 days, and the average weight of each goose is 1.5 ~ 2.5 kg. In addition, during this period, goslings can eat fresh and tender grass, and they can also eat fallen grains and weed seeds in early rice fields in one season. But there are also some problems in summer, such as frequent animal injuries, high temperature and high humidity.

(1) cooling and dehumidification

Cover the outdoor activities of the goose shed with umbrellas and shelters. The front wall of the goose shed should be made of nylon net or fence, and other walls should be opened at high and low positions. Goose sheds should be spacious to prevent crowding. When it is hot every day, spray the ground, walls and geese with cold water, and open all doors and windows day and night to make the air smooth. If possible, an electric fan can be installed, so that the effect of dehumidification and heat dissipation is better.

(2) Reduce the density

The density of geese in summer should not be too high, and the feeding density of meat geese should be 5 ~ 6 per square meter to prevent crowded heatstroke.

(3) Feeding method

The newly hatched goslings are lured to eat with fresh leaves (or grass) chopped in their hands. If most of them compete for food, they can start eating. Then use a basin to hold water and train to drink. When feeding, spread the vegetable leaves (or feed) evenly on the plastic sheet for them to eat, and feed them every two hours. From the third day, feed in the trough, five times a day, and the last time is arranged around 10 in the afternoon. 6 ~ 10 days old, fed 5 ~ 8 times a day. Before the age of 35 days, grazing should be given priority to. When the temperature is low in the morning and evening, the feed intake of geese is large, which can drive geese to places with good grass quality, sufficient quantity and no pollution, thus saving a lot of concentrate. Generally, it is appropriate to graze at 6 ~ 9 am and 6 ~ 8 pm. The rest time can be kept in captivity. Goose should be kept in captivity at the age of 35 ~ 50 days, and exercise should be reduced. The feeding density should be 5 per square meter. Every day, 100 ~ 150g compound feed and finely chopped green feed are mixed and fed, and the compound feed and green feed are mixed into semi-dry feed according to the ratio of 3: 7 to provide enough drinking water. When 5 1 ~ 60 days old, feed with about 800 grams of compound feed, 5 ~ 6 times a day.

(4) Prevention of animal injury

During the brooding period of summer geese, animals, especially mice, are the most feared in the goose house. The rat hole in the goose house should be blocked, and the doors and windows should be equipped with rat-proof nets to prevent rats from entering the goose house.

(5) Epidemic prevention and disease elimination

Goose is easy to get sick in summer, so we should do a good job in epidemic prevention. The newly hatched goslings should be injected with gosling plague serum, and each muscle should be injected with 0.5 ml. At the age of 30 days, each muscle was injected with 1.5 ml avian cholera vaccine. Feeding utensils should be disinfected every 3 ~ 5 days, and fences and sports grounds should be disinfected with 1% bleaching powder and 2% caustic soda every 7 ~ 10 days.
