Because the organizational system in Ming and Qing Dynasties once belonged to Jiudu, Yixian County, Huizhou Prefecture, it was also called Jiudushu Village. Most of the residents in the village are surnamed Shu, descendants of the grandson of Fuxi IX. He moved here from Lujiang in the late Tang Dynasty and has lived here for over 1 100 years. There are more than 200 ancient ancestral halls in the village, such as Guangyu Hall and Chengdao Hall, among which Shuqing Hall is a rare and famous clan ancestral hall in southern Anhui, China.

Pingshan village is located between Xidi and Hongcun. Because Xidi and Hongcun are so famous, tourists often ignore this beautiful small mountain village, thus retaining a quiet and simple village. If you think Xidi hong cun is too noisy and boring for tourists and businessmen to gather, you can come here for a leisurely afternoon and enjoy the real bridges and the leisure of rural people.
