Geographically, Mawang Town, Youyang Autonomous County, Chongqing is located in the east of Sichuan Basin, the center of Chongqing and Changsha, and the hinterland of Wuling Mountain. It crosses the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, that is, east longitude10810, and north latitude is about 28-30. The border connects Longshan County in Hunan Province in the east, Xiushan Autonomous County in the south, Yanhe Autonomous County in Guizhou Province in the west, Qianjiang Autonomous County and Pengshui Autonomous County in the north. From the satellite map of GOOL E, we can know that Mawangba is a long and narrow rice river, which generally runs in the north-south direction. It is about 2 ~ 3 kilometers wide and 50 kilometers long.

(including longtan town and Ganxigou), the dam elevation is about 200~300m. The eastern part is a hilly area with an altitude of 400 m ~ 600 m in Haibo, and the western part is a watershed alpine area with an altitude of 800 m ~ 1000 m in Haibo (the western part is Wujiang River system, while the eastern part where Mawang is located is unitary water system). All the mountain systems belong to the Great Wuling Mountain System, which is the transition area from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the middle and small plains of the Yangtze River, so there are running rivers and certain vertical vegetation distribution in the area.
