Does Ejiao block deform in hot weather?

Ejiao is flat and long, with smooth surface, uniform color, translucency and no peculiar smell. If two pieces collide, the crunchy one is dry, and the texture is slightly soft when the temperature is high in summer, but it can't be soft enough to be deformed. If it is soft and sticky at 30℃, it means it is not dry. In severe cases, it will stick into a lump, and if it is fashionable, it can be moldy. Ejiao is easy to dry and break after being blown by the wind for a long time, and it is easy to soften when exposed to the sun, and it is easy to regain moisture and soften when it is wet and heated. Its safe moisture content is 16%- 18%. When the water content exceeds 2 1%, it will start to mold. When the relative humidity is lower than 75%, water will be lost and the rubber surface will become brittle. Therefore, the appropriate relative humidity for storage is 80%-85%. If it absorbs too much moisture, it can be dried with lime and calcium chloride.

When the air is hot and humid in summer, it should be stored in a lime tank. In the process of storage, it is also necessary to regularly check whether the rubber block absorbs moisture and becomes soft. You can take a box of erasers at this time. If there is a crisp sound when shaking, it means that the rubber block is dry. If it is soft and slightly mildewed, you can wipe it off with gauze dipped in a little alcohol, dry it in the sun or put it in a lime jar to get wet, and it can still be used as medicine. If the mildew is serious, it smells strange or burnt, becomes soft, sticky, or even melts, it can no longer be used as medicine. In summer, Ejiao can also be placed in a sealed box, vertically or horizontally, and erected layer by layer, but it is not advisable to overlap multiple layers to prevent the rubber block from deforming and sticking into a block due to long-term pressure softening. Prevent the wind from blowing in winter and spring to avoid breaking into small pieces.

Generally speaking, the sealing method is the best. The specific method is to put a small amount of lime block as desiccant at the bottom of the large-mouth glass bottle, then separate it with thick paper, put paper-wrapped donkey-hide gelatin on it, cover the bottle cap tightly, and finally seal the bottle mouth with wax and put it in a cool and dry place. If conditions permit, the desiccant can be silica gel, which is not only sanitary and clean, but also can be used continuously for several years. However, it should be noted that Ejiao must be dry, moldy and moth-eaten before sealing.

Some people like to keep Ejiao in the refrigerator, which is quite convenient. The advantage of this method is that infestor mildew is not easy. The disadvantage is that the refrigerator is full of meat, vegetables and other foods at the same time, which is humid and smells bad. If it is stored for a long time, it is easy to soften Ejiao and change its internal quality, which may have a strange smell when taking it.

Experts suggest that Dong 'e Ejiao can be stored in wooden boxes (boxes) or sealed boxes, with a little lime or other moisture absorbent at the bottom, such as silica gel or special food desiccant bags, to prevent Ejiao from getting wet and caking and moldy. If you don't eat donkey-hide gelatin in the first year, wrap it in paper first, and 100~200 grams is a small bag. The paper bag should be lined with a layer of old oil paper, and a piece of old oil paper should be padded between each layer of glue. If you don't have old oily paper, you can use food plastic bags instead to prevent glue from sticking to the paper. The container for donkey-hide gelatin also needs to be placed in a cool and dry place.

In addition, Ejiao is easy to soften when heated and damp, but it is easy to break in dry and cold places. It can be wrapped in oil paper, buried in chaff, sealed and preserved, and external moisture is absorbed by chaff, thus playing a role in protecting drugs. It can also be stored in a sealed lime jar in summer. If the storage method is correct, the characteristics of Ejiao will not change, ensuring its normal function.
