Changes in Jiangbei District of Chongqing

As a Chongqing native, I have witnessed the earth-shaking changes that have taken place since Chongqing was directly under the central government. The most noteworthy thing is traffic. Before Chongqing was directly under the central government, there were only a handful of roads leading to the outside world in such a big city. The Yangtze River and Jialing River divide the main city, and there are only two bridges for vehicles to cross the river. The rest had to rely on ships to cross the other side. Vehicles queuing across the river every day are like giant pythons, which are hard to see from the river. According to the normal situation, it takes at least two hours to queue up to cross the river. If the ferry stops in the fog, I wonder how long it will take. The difficulty of crossing the river at that time was really complicated. Chongqing is a mountain city. People rely on buses for commuting. Because the slope is steep and the road is narrow, there are only two ways in and out of the main city. The traffic jam is very serious when commuting, and it is a veritable city. For many years and generations, Chongqing people are eager to build more bridges on the Erjiang River, hoping that the natural barrier will become a thoroughfare.

The buildings before Chongqing was directly under the central government were also very backward. The main city is full of diaojiao buildings, and the whole city is in rags. The whole city gives the impression that it is dirty, shabby and crowded. The weather in winter is often gray, so it is difficult to see the sunshine, which makes people feel depressed and always want to vent. Due to the serious pollution, the roadside trees on both sides of the street look unkempt, and the poles covered with cobwebs are even more listless.

Reform and opening up, especially Chongqing directly under the central government, has injected great vitality into the development of Chongqing. Chongqing people are full of enthusiasm for construction. Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee and Chongqing Municipal Government, great changes have taken place in Chongqing in less than ten years. As Chongqing people, what I feel most is the great changes in traffic, such as ring expressway, Chengdu-Chongqing expressway, Chongqing-Wanzhou expressway, Chongqing-Guizhou expressway and Chongqing-Hefei expressway. Bridge experts said that the number and variety of bridges in Chongqing are rare in the world. Chongqing has the reputation of "Bridge Capital" again. The completion of bridges and expressways has made the eight-hour Chongqing and the half-hour main city a reality. The completion and opening of the new light rail line has greatly facilitated citizens' travel and made people feel the convenience brought by convenient transportation.

The night view of Chongqing is worth mentioning. Whenever night falls, the bright moon is in the sky, whether you are standing on a tree in Nanshan, or on the riverside of Nanbin Road and Beibin Road, who is not intoxicated by the beautiful scenery in front of you when you see the high-rise buildings in Yuzhong Peninsula surrounded by two rivers? The night scene in Chongqing is absolutely wonderful, and the night lights on both sides of the Yangtze River dazzle you. The cruise ships shuttling back and forth on the Jialing River in the Yangtze River are dizzying. Facing the rolling Yangtze River, I enjoy the fresh air of the mountain city and the various customs of the mountain city night scene. Suddenly I feel that living in Chongqing is really a great happiness. I cut to the chase and saw the green window. I live in a modern city, but it is so close to nature that people feel very comfortable and proud.
