Go on road trip: Get off at the Kangzhuang exit of Beijing-Tibet Expressway (formerly Badaling Expressway) and drive along the road signs for about 10 minutes to reach Yeyahu.

Yeya Lake is located in the northwest of Yanqing County, Beijing, and belongs to the North China Plain to the Shanxi Plateau.

Yanqing county belongs to continental monsoon climate, which is a transitional zone between temperate zone and middle temperate zone, semi-arid and semi-humid. Yanqing is rich in light energy resources, with an average annual sunshine hours of 2806.5 hours/year and a total annual solar radiation of 5288.82 MJ/m2 * year, which is the highest sunshine and solar radiation area in Beijing.

The wetlands in Yeyahu area are composed of Guanting Reservoir, main tributaries of Guishui River, reservoirs and ponds on the river, surrounding swamps and seasonal flooding areas. The main water systems in the region are Guishui River and Caijia River, Guanting Reservoir is in the middle and upper reaches, and Guanting Reservoir is the main water area in the region.

Yeyahu Wetland is located in Yanqing-Changping active fault zone in Beishan uplift structure area, with an altitude of 470-600 meters. Its terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. There is a large area of acid bedrock exposed in the area. The intrusion of rock mass is controlled by the direction of regional faults, and the Mesozoic crustal activity is strong. From the landform type, it belongs to the accumulation structure landform type, which is mainly formed by the flood impact of Guishui River, also known as Guishui Plain, with flat terrain, and its underlying stratum is the interbedded gravel of lake facies and river facies, which is continuously distributed with alluvial fans around Yanqing.
