Sunny Weekend

Saxony Swiss National Park (Nationalpark S? Chscheschweiz) Saxony Little Switzerland, a mountainous area in eastern Germany, is located in the southeast of Dresden. Together with Bohemia and Switzerland in the Czech Republic, it forms the Elbe River sandstone mountain range, covering an area of 36,000 hectares. This is a famous tourist and rock climbing resort. Unique Cretaceous erosion landscape (Erosionslandschaft der Kreidezeit), unique chalk sandstone rock landscape in central Europe, deep valleys and canyons are the characteristics of the park.

It is a common hobby of many Dresden people to climb mountains and see the scenery in little Switzerland while the weather is fine on weekends. Is there a train from Dresden railway station to Sch? Every 45 minutes. Take the S 1 in the direction of na (generally take the bus on the 18 platform), and it takes about 40 minutes to reach the picturesque location of Little Switzerland National Park in Saxony.

Tips: If you usually use monthly tickets in downtown Dresden, you need to buy supplementary tickets in Pierma and Bud Shangdao before going to Little Switzerland. You can buy them at the ticket machine. If you go back and forth on the same day, it is relatively cost-effective to buy a one-day ticket. After buying a ticket, you have to check the ticker on the platform before the ticket can take effect.

S 1 Drive slowly along the Elbe River. You might as well choose a window seat and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way again and again in the sun. There are often ticket inspectors on this train. Don't evade tickets.

The first stop of our little trip to Switzerland started from Kurort Rathen.

About half an hour later, the train arrived at Kurort Rathen Station. When you get off the train and cross the railway, you can see tourists coming and going, some by car, some pushing children and some leading dogs. Very lively.

Walk along the path for about 3 minutes, and you will reach the Elbe River. Cross the river by ferry (one way 1 euro, round trip 1.8 euro) and enter this dream town.

Kurort Rathen is a very delicate town with a strong fairy tale flavor. There are many hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops in the town. There are many toys, handicrafts and very beautiful porcelain in the souvenir shop. It is said that they all come from the nearby town of Mei Sen. Meissen's porcelain is very famous in Germany, equivalent to Jingdezhen in China.

Spring is the season in bloom. Flowers are everywhere, birds are singing, flowers are overflowing, grass is growing, warblers are flying ... very lively. There are crowds walking dogs, sunbathing and picnicking everywhere, which is a lively and happy scene.

Don't worry about getting lost here. As long as you follow the local people, you can find the way up the mountain. The vegetation coverage rate on the mountain is above 90%, and the air is moist and fresh. It takes about 40 minutes to climb the stairs from the town to the top of the mountain. Along the way, you will meet many tourists singing on the roadside. If you are tired of climbing mountains, you might as well stop and listen to their songs.

The most famous here are the observation deck on the mountain and the Bastais Stone Bridge. From the observation deck, you can overlook the Elbe River, where the Elbe River turns a corner and forms a beautiful arc. There are green grass on both sides. The red roof of this town is a foil.

The Bastais stone bridge on the mountain is integrated with the abrupt mountain around it, which is natural. Miraculously, this stone bridge has not stood up in hundreds of years of wind and rain, but has gradually precipitated its own historical charm.

It is said that in the late18th century, Swiss painters Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff lived in Dresden, looking for beautiful scenery. They once crossed the Elbe River sandstone mountains, and the beautiful scenery on the way reminded them of their dream hometown. Therefore, they called it "Saxony Little Switzerland" in their mutual correspondence. Although the name was not very popular in the authorities, it soon became widely known in the street.

The observation deck at the top of the mountain, which little Swiss tourists are most familiar with, is also here. It used to be one of the important places in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Did the wedding scene impress many people?

After a short stop at the top of the mountain, I returned to the town where I came from. On the way up the mountain, you will find that there are actually two roads up the mountain. When you go down the mountain, you might as well choose another road. This road will take you to the other side of the town and give you a chance to see the beautiful scenery of the town that you missed before going up the mountain. There are some young girls singing at the foot of the mountain, which makes people sit down and enjoy this wonderful music time.

When you get back to the town station, if you have enough time, you can take the same train to the next destination-Koenigstein, and the whole journey takes only 10 minutes. Don't cross the river, don't cross the town, don't follow the instructions. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the 360-meter-high King's Castle.

The castle is steep, surrounded by three stone walls. It's a fortress of past dynasties. There are observation decks around the castle, as well as ancient forts, which are very similar to those in Shanhaiguan, China, and are very interesting.

It takes 7 hours to climb the mountain on weekends, which is refreshing. If there is an opportunity, it is also a good choice to take your luggage to live in the mountains for a period of time, watch the sunrise and sunset, and watch the tourists.
