What are the climatic characteristics of Hong Kong?

Subtropical monsoon climate

Hong Kong is located in the tropical area south of 22.5 north latitude. However, because it is located in the transitional zone of subtropical monsoon in China, the whole territory of Hong Kong is controlled and influenced by subtropical monsoon, so the climate of Hong Kong belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate type. The climate is characterized by hot, humid and rainy, with four distinct seasons. There are many typhoons in summer and autumn, each with its own characteristics. It is warm and foggy in spring, hot and rainy in summer, sunny and cool in autumn and slightly dry and cool in winter.

In fact, the climate is related to latitude, but not parallel to latitude. Doesn't mean it must be a tropical climate between the Tropic of Cancer. Hong Kong has a typical subtropical monsoon climate, but because it is close to the South China Sea, it has a subtropical maritime monsoon climate.
