Is the VIA chip from China?

Produced in Taiwan Province Province, China, it has a certain history, but its performance is poor. At present, domestic chips used in low-end notebooks include Godson series, Shenwei series, Tengfei series, VIA series and Shenwei series.

1. Loongson series

Godson series general processors are independently developed in China, which is of great significance for maintaining information security in China. Previously, most general-purpose processors used by China were produced by Intel and AMD.

2. Shenwei series

The "Tenth Five-Year Plan" 863 supported Shanghai High Performance Integrated Circuit Design Center to develop a high-performance "Shenwei" CPU, which achieved a great historical leap from scratch.

3.Fit series

Tengfei processor (CPU), also known as Galaxy Tengfei processor, was developed by National University of Defense Technology. Galaxy Tengfei processor passed the national appraisal in Beijing in June 2004. Tengfei CPU products have the characteristics of complete pedigree, high performance, perfect ecology and high degree of autonomy, mainly including four series: high-performance desktop CPU, high-performance server CPU, high-end embedded CPU and Tengfei socket.

4.VIA series

VIA series processors are a new force in the CPU market. After acquiring Cyrix, a global processor manufacturer, they will mass-produce their own processors. Cyrix used to be the world's top three microprocessor manufacturers, alongside Intel and AMD.

5. Shenwei series

The domestic high-performance computer "Shenwei No.1" was installed and used in the National Meteorological Center. It can complete 32 samples in 8 hours and make global prediction in 10 days. Numerical weather forecasting has changed the backward situation of manual operation in the past, and the accuracy, speed and timeliness of forecasting have been greatly improved, which has brought the ability and level of weather forecasting in China to a new level.
