Min Nong (Tang)

At noon in summer, the sun is very hot, farmers are still working, and beads are dripping into the soil.

Who knows that every meal in our plate is obtained after hard work?

At noon in midsummer, when the sun was shining, farmers were still working and sweat dripped into the soil. Who would have thought that the rice in our bowl was full of the blood and sweat of farmers?

This poem shows the hardships of farmers' labor and their indignation at wasting food. At noon in midsummer, farmers hoe in the scorching sun, and sweat drips into the crops. But who knows, every grain of rice in the bowl contains the hardships of farmers!

Four. Brief introduction of the author

Li Shen

Li Shen (772-846), the word Gong Chui. Originally from Qiaocheng County, Bozhou (now Qiaocheng District, Bozhou City, Anhui Province). Tang dynasty prime minister, poet, Li's great-grandson, secretary of the Central Secretariat. Shen Li lost his father at the age of six and moved to Wuxi, Runzhou with his mother. At the age of 27, he became a scholar and a teaching assistant in Guo Zi. Later, he served as assistant minister of Zhongshu, right servant of Shangshu, and ambassador of Huainan. He died in Yangzhou in the sixth year of Huichang (846) at the age of 74. Posthumously awarded to Qiu, posthumous title "Wen Su". Li Shen made close friends with Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi, and was a participant in the New Yuefu Movement. He wrote 20 new poems about Yuefu, which have been lost. As a representative, there are two poems in "Compassion for Peasants": "Weeding at noon, sweat dripping down the soil. Who knows that every grain is hard.
