What are warm air mass and cold air mass?

Warm air mass: an air mass whose air temperature is higher than that of the ground or sea surface. When the warm air mass moves, it will continuously transfer heat to the ground or sea surface, thus warming the area it passes through and gradually cooling itself. The warm air mass that affects our country mainly comes from the tropical ocean and is rich in water vapor. If you encounter a cold air mass in the north, it will often condense into clouds, causing rainfall and causing a wide range of weather changes.

Cold air mass: refers to the air mass whose temperature is relatively lower than the underlying surface, or the air mass whose temperature is relatively lower than the two sides of the front surface. When the cold air mass moves southward to another area, it will not only cool this area, but also increase the direct temperature drop rate due to the warming of the bottom of the air mass, and the gas layer tends to be unstable, which is conducive to the development of convection and produces unstable weather.
