How to raise potted Shandandan flowers
Shandandan flower is Shandandan lily, also known as Shandandan flower, Shandandan flower, Shandandan seed and thin leaf lily. It is cold-resistant, sunny, slightly shade-tolerant, slightly acidic in soil, and does not like hard clay. It is born on stony slopes, grasslands, shrubs and sparse forests. Lanzhou lily has strong disease resistance, heat tolerance, cold tolerance and salt tolerance, and has edible, ornamental and medicinal values.
Lily is easy to cultivate and manage, and likes sandy or fertile, moist, slightly acidic or neutral soil with good drainage, but it can still grow in most types of soil, mostly in shady and sparse forests, with low temperature and high air humidity, and no direct glare, but it still needs sufficient light and appropriate humidity, otherwise it will not grow well, and the drainage performance of soil is the key to affect the growth of lily, so it is best to cultivate it in places with high terrain.
Lanzhou lily can reproduce sexually or asexually, among which asexual reproduction is commonly used, and scale cutting is the most commonly used method with the highest reproduction coefficient. Other methods include stem and leaf cutting and plant tissue culture. Bulbs can be planted in late spring or Mid-Autumn Festival, and covered with soil 10- 12 cm. The row spacing and plant spacing of large bulbs are 35× 15 cm, and small bulbs should be planted in a little density. In early spring, animals such as rabbits and slugs should be prevented from invading, because if all the buds are eaten, the bulbs will lose their activity and cannot continue to grow.
Sowing and breeding need to bury seeds sparsely in the soil and put them in a cold bed from late winter to early spring, and germinate after 2-4 weeks. When transplanting, we should be very careful not to harm the seedlings, but many people don't transplant them, but let them grow in pots until the next year. Lily of Shandan should be fertilized regularly when growing. Bulbs can be divided into plants when dormant, and 2-3 bulbs are buried in each pot. After at least one year of cultivation, bulbs will be planted when they are dormant. This needs to be done after defoliation in autumn and transplanted immediately. In early autumn, scales on bulbs can be peeled off, and small bulbs grow on these scales. Bulbs can grow if they are kept in warm peat. These bulbs can be cultivated in the greenhouse and can be planted when they are big enough.
Planting time
Shandandan flower is a low-bulbous plant, mainly with bulbs. According to the size of the seed ball, choose a suitable flowerpot and maintain it properly, and the big ball will bloom in the same year.
Planting time is usually in autumn. If you miss autumn, you can store the seeds in wet sand and plant them in autumn. Seed plants should choose loose and fertile soil with good drainage, and poor soil quality is easy to cause seed bulbs to rot.
Planting spacing
Planting is to ensure a certain spacing, the big ball is about 30 cm, the middle ball is 20 cm, and the small ball is 7~8 cm. Don't cover the soil too deep after planting, just 3~4 cm.
environmental requirement
Shandandan flower is a wild flower in the north, which is not so melodramatic. Pay attention to supplement sunshine after germination of seeds, and keep normal illumination for more than 6 hours every day without shading.
Pay attention to humidity, not too dry and not too wet. When the weather is fine, put the plants outdoors to breed, and don't accumulate too much water to avoid root rot.
Eradicate weeds
As a flower, there will be many small weeds around Shandan, which will compete with plants for nutrients. Weeds should be regularly removed and directly pulled out during the growth period. Regularly loosen the soil at seedling stage to ensure that there is enough oxygen in the soil, but be careful when loosening the soil to avoid damaging the roots when the roots are mature and exposed to the surface in the later stage.
Insect prevention
From April to May, Shandandan flowers grow rapidly and will gradually grow buds. In this process, it is easy to encounter underground pests such as ground tigers and grubs, and it is difficult to control them. Therefore, the bulbs should be disinfected every month during maintenance, and the roots should be watered with disinfectant.
Xiangyang drying
Shandandan flowers like sunshine and dry environment, and their roots are also suitable for cold environment, so they can't be suffocated. High temperature and humid environment is easy to cause root rot. Pay attention to timely ventilation in summer and loosen the soil frequently.
Be in a dormant state
Bulbs will have an obvious dormancy period, which will bloom in June and July, and the stems and leaves on the ground will wither gradually in August, and all the above-ground parts will die in September. At this time, bulbs will enter dormancy period. Pay attention to protect bulbs, plant them next year, and they will continue to bloom.
