Why is there a South-to-North Water Diversion Project, and Henan will be dry?

The South-to-North Water Diversion Project is to transport abundant water from the south to the north. The dry weather in Henan shows the importance of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, not because the South-to-North Water Transfer Project will not cause drought, but because one is man-made and the other is natural. It is in order to regulate nature that people have built the South-to-North Water Transfer Project.

The main canal of South-to-North Water Transfer Project spans four provinces and cities, namely Henan, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin. The water receiving areas are Nanyang, Pingdingshan, Xuchang, Zhengzhou, Jiaozuo, Xinxiang, Hebi, Anyang, Handan, Xingtai, Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Beijing, Tianjin and other large and medium-sized cities. Focus on solving the shortage of water resources in Henan, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin.

Before 1990' s, Nanyang basin was in good weather. Nanyang annals introduces the geographical environment of Nanyang, saying: Nanyang is warm and rainy with a pleasant climate.

Now: It hasn't rained in Nanyang, Henan for several days. Now the river is cut off and my river has dried up.

And now it is often dry and it doesn't rain. Farmers must water their fields when planting wheat, peanuts and corn. Like this season, many wells pumping nearly 40 meters are out of water, so there is no way to sit there and wait for water to farm. It's been like this for years. There used to be water in wells about five meters, but now there is no water in wells more than ten meters deep this season!

I am from Nanyang, too. This year's climate drought is the cause of the big climate. There's nothing anyone can do in bad weather. All areas have extreme weather, some heavy rain and some hail. We have both man-made disasters and natural disasters in this drought. Let's not talk about some things. Now that the grain output has been halved, farmers are saddened.

Not in Nanyang, but we are close to Nanyang, because it is adjacent to Zhumadian. We also have a drought here, which is particularly serious. It's not as long as summer. It seems that there will be no next heavy rain. Some time ago, the village next door was rated as a demonstration village, and a reservoir has just been built. It hasn't rained until now, and I can't fill it in. It hasn't rained heavily for at least a month, and it hasn't rained well in the last two years.

The cause of drought

In fact, our Henan province is not the most serious in Nanyang. The most serious place is Shangqiu, and the drought degree in Shangqiu is actually the biggest.

Nanyang is located in the Huaihe River in Qinling Mountains and belongs to the North-South Monsoon Church. Only when two streams of wet air meet cold and hot will raindrops form and fall. Nanyang, located in the Huaihe River and Qinling Mountains, is not a place with much rainfall, because it will run north when the hot air is strong and south when the cold air is strong. We won't get together in Nanyang, so it's especially difficult to rain.

My well has dried up. My neighbor asked us for water the day before yesterday. Because our water pipe is long, he wants to use our water pipe to store water in his well. If it doesn't rain. I don't think I can last a month.

Because I am in the city now, my friend came yesterday, and we went to our reservoir to have a look. Our whole city is drinking water from the reservoir. Now the water in the reservoir has basically reached the bottom, and it is not very deep. If it doesn't rain again, we will be nervous about drinking water in the city, and then we will probably have to run home.

In recent years, the drought-stricken area in Henan has expanded, but it is more serious in Nanyang. What is the reason? Personal pass is a regional issue. Nanyang belongs to the south of Henan, which is the isolation belt between the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, and is separated by Qinling Mountains in the west. In the north, Qi Jiao Jian, the highest peak in the Central Plains, was blocked by Funiu Mountain. Due to the influence of ocean circulation, humid climate in western Siberia, cold air and Qinling Mountains, the airflow rises, goes down the Han River, meets the humid climate in the Yangtze River, and all the rain falls to Hubei. Most of the rain in Nanyang is affected by the marine climate, and it will only come down from the Yangtze River estuary when it meets the cold air from the northwest. Conditions at both ends of things are indispensable.

In recent years, the climate has really changed a lot. In the past, the running river dried up, with little rain in summer and little snow in winter. The climate is getting drier and drier, so there is no way.

It's not a South-to-North Water Diversion Project. I come from Nanyang. When I was a child, there was a river dozens of meters wide in my hometown, and now there is not a drop of water. I have to dig a well dozens of meters deep to get water. The coordinates are nanzhao county, Nanyang City.

There is nothing I can do about it. The climate is changeable this year, and many fruit farmers are going to cry. My friend in Xiangyang, next to Nanyang, told me that rice could not be planted because of the drought this year.

The river water from sand mining in the river bed drops, the whole groundwater level drops, the river bed dries up, the evaporation drops, and the nature of the basin can't store enough cloud water, so there is no precipitation. As a result, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project will go out if it doesn't advance, which will aggravate the drought. Economic development has also aggravated the decline of groundwater level.
