Life base of Dagang Oilfield

After the advance team of Daqing oilfield exploration campaign arrived in Tianjin, they lived in Beicang, the northern suburb of Tianjin at that time, and made use of the old factory building of the former Tianjin Iron and Steel Plant.

For work and life. 19641February, the oil blowout in Port No.5 in Dagang area announced the birth of Dagang Oilfield. North China Petroleum Exploration Headquarters was moved from Beicang to Dong Gang, Beidagang from September 6th, 1938 to September 9th, 1965. Dagang at that time had just experienced the catastrophic flood of 1963, and there were puddles, swamps and saline-alkali wasteland everywhere. It is difficult to find a place with flat terrain, no water and a tent to live in. After investigation, we found a high-lying sandbar east of the present Jinqi Highway (northeast of the present refinery). Several wooden houses were built on it, and some tents were set up around it, which became the organs of North China Petroleum Exploration Command and the residences of combatants. This is the birthplace of Dagang Oilfield-"First Hospital". 1973 or so, the oilfield authorities moved to a newly-built quadrangle named "No.3 Courtyard". After the competent department of the oilfield moved to the Third Hospital, the bungalow with the original office address was taken over by the Institute of Mining Machinery. 1978, the whole unit moved to Renqiu (Huabei Oilfield Station) and was taken over by the newly established "Gas Pipeline Office". Since then, the living facilities except hospitals and schools have gradually moved westward, and the No.3 campus has begun to prosper. Around 1983, the bungalow of Sanjin Courtyard, which became the name of "No.2 Hospital", was demolished and the office building at the trachea was built. 1992, the bureau built an 8-story office building on the original site of the quadrangle, which has been in use ever since. Now the first hospital has faded out of people's memory, and the former foundation can only be vaguely identified from a barren weed. The No.2 Hospital and No.3 Hospital are even more memorable, as if they live far apart. ...

Today's Dagang Oilfield life base is north to the north bank of Liu Du Alkali River, south to the flood control levee, east to Nangang Industrial Zone and west to Dagang Shajingzi. There are two production and living bases in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, namely Shi Gang (No.3 Oil Production Plant) and Hua Gang (No.2 Oil Production Plant). Mining area:
