Can I take an aerial drone to Mauritius?
In fact, there are two main problems to pay attention to when taking drones to Mauritius. One is that the battery is on the plane (the drone itself and the remote control battery), and the other is whether you are allowed to fly.
At present, China Civil Aviation has the following regulations on lithium battery carrying:
Portable electronic equipment (camera, mobile phone, notebook computer, video camera, etc.). ) Including self-use lithium battery, it can be carried as hand luggage on board, and the rated energy value of lithium battery shall not exceed 100Wh (watt hour). Those exceeding 100Wh but not exceeding 160Wh may be installed on the equipment in checked baggage or hand luggage with the approval of the airline. It is forbidden to use lithium batteries above 160Wh. The spare batteries of portable electronic equipment must be separately short-circuited (put in the original retail packaging or insulate the electrodes in other ways, such as sticking adhesive tape on the exposed electrodes, or putting each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective box), and can only be carried in hand luggage. Only two spare lithium batteries of 100-160Wh approved by airlines can be carried. Passengers carrying wheelchairs or other similar vehicles driven by lithium batteries and portable medical electronic equipment containing medical lithium batteries must carry them in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements and obtain the approval of airlines. Passengers can consult the airline in advance and get help. Mauritius and China's civil aviation and IACO (International Civil Aviation Organization) have basically the same regulations on battery carrying, so we should pay special attention to the fact that lithium batteries cannot be checked!
The second question is whether to allow flying. At present, the United States has the strictest control over drones. The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implements a registration system for domestic drones between 0.55 and 55 pounds, requiring all drones flying in the United States to be labeled with registration numbers. Unregistered drones are illegal, but at present, I only heard that the United States is doing this, and other countries have not followed up.
With regard to the no-fly zone, at present, the mainstream regulations in most countries are that flights are prohibited within 5 kilometers of the airport, and some important government buildings or areas are prohibited from flying, such as military areas and municipal buildings. In addition, many countries have made regulations on flying in crowded commercial areas (drones are prohibited in the Fifth Ring Road in Beijing, etc.). ). So it's best not to fly near the airport in Maucho and Port Louis. Other places, such as the beaches, hotels and sugarcane forests in Mau Qiu, just fly and nobody cares.
