Hohhot is a Mongolian transliteration, which means "blue city". It is the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the political, economic, cultural, scientific, educational and financial center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The history of Hohhot can be traced back to the Warring States period more than 2,300 years ago. 1572 (the sixth year of Qin Long in the Ming Dynasty), alatan Khan of Tumote, Mongolia, established a friendly relationship with the Ming Dynasty's "communication and mutual market", and built a city here, named "naturalization", which the Mongolian people called "Kuku and Tun" (that is, "Hohhot"), which became the embryonic form of modern Hohhot. 1954 was identified as the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
