Why is there no 026 in the area code?

026 is the area code reserved for the regional exchange center in Taiwan Province Province, which can also be understood as reserved for Taibei. Because Taiwan Province Province ranks in East China in the administrative division sequence, the area code of Nanjing 25, the regional exchange center in East China, is used as the last place.

Area code refers to the telephone area code commonly used in the administrative areas of major cities in the world, which is mainly used for domestic and international long-distance telephone access. For example, Chinese mainland international area code 86, Beijing area code 0 10, Guangzhou area code 020 and so on.

When calling back to a domestic city from abroad, the local international long-distance telephone access code is added after the China country number 86, and there is no 0 before the city area code. For example, the area code of Chengdu should be 28, not 028.

Extended data

When making a domestic call in Chinese mainland, you should dial the toll number 0 first. For example, to make a long-distance call from Shanghai to Beijing, you should dial the long-distance crown code (0)+ Beijing area code (10)+ (telephone number).

However, when you call Chinese mainland from other places, Hongkong and Macau, you don't need to dial the toll number 0. For example, if you want to make an international call directly from the United States to Beijing, China, you should dial the local international crown code 0 1 1, Chinese mainland international area code 86, Beijing area code 10 and the telephone number.

To make an international long-distance call in Chinese mainland (including Hongkong and Macau), you need to add the international crown code "00", followed by the international area code, long-distance area code and the user's telephone number.
