How to check the smoke alarm camera

When staying in a hotel, we often find something like this on the roof, with red dots flashing. Many people who don't understand fire protection, the first reaction is, is it a camera? Technology makes life smarter. In order to better prevent fires, smoke alarms will be installed in buildings, hotels, shopping malls and public places.

So how do you distinguish a smoke alarm from a camera?

1. Normal smoke alarm, alarm indicator light works normally, flashes once every 5 seconds, and the filter screen is intact.

2. The camera doesn't have this indicator light for concealment, and the smoke alarm is generally completely closed, with only the sensing window below.

3. The smoke alarm generally has four wires, all of which are the same, but the camera has only two wires, one power plug and one video output plug.

4. Most smoke alarms are installed in the center to facilitate fire monitoring. If it is too close to the wall, it is probably a pinhole camera disguised as a smoke alarm.

5. For the unmodified smoke alarm, the flashing light is vertical, and the flashing frequency is regular at the lower end of the smoke alarm. If suspicious lights appear on the side of the smoke alarm, then the smoke alarm may be fake.

Smoke alarm can detect the smoke produced in a fire. Widely used in shopping malls, hotels, shops, warehouses, computer rooms, residential and other places of fire safety detection. The alarm has a built-in buzzer, which can make a strong sound after alarm.

1, normally flashing red light.

At present, the smoke alarm usually flashes a red light every few seconds. In fact, this is the smoke alarm itself to check whether there is a problem with the smoke alarm, indicating that the smoke alarm is working normally.

2. Always flashing or flashing frequently

If the smoke alarm detects that the gas concentration reaches a certain standard, the smoke alarm will start to work. At this time, the smoke alarm may always light a red light or even sound an alarm until the smoke concentration drops to a safe gas concentration value.

Be careful not to block the sensing port of the smoke alarm with tape/plastic bag! Even at least once every six months to check whether there is electricity or failure. Don't be afraid of trouble, life is no small matter! If you are worried about the camera in the smoke alarm, Bian Xiao summarized several methods here, hoping to help you.

How to detect hidden cameras?

Flashlight inspection method

For ordinary cameras, you can use a flashlight to check all the exposed holes in the room, such as vents, radiators, televisions, power sockets and so on. If relevant equipment is installed, reflective objects can be found by illuminating with a flashlight.

Mobile phone scanning method

1. Turn off the lights in the room, draw the curtains, and leave the room in a dark state;

2. Turn on the camera function of the mobile phone and carefully scan the place where the camera may be installed in the room.

3. If there is a light spot on the screen, it may be the location of the pinhole camera.

Note that this method is only suitable for detecting cameras with infrared fill light.

Red flashlight exclusion method

Because the camera is curved, the red flashlight can have a very obvious red reflection in the past.

Pay attention to these three heights:

Head position

After entering the hotel, turn off the lights, close the curtains, illuminate the bed with a red flashlight, and check the smoke alarm and air conditioning holes on the roof.

Height of your head:

Stand by and get out of bed and shine a flashlight around your head to see if there is a camera hidden in this area.

Knee height:

According to the height of the knee, do another check to check for suspicious objects.

Pay attention to alarm clock, stereo, patch panel, TV, air purifier, etc. Probably hiding cameras. Therefore, the equipment facing the bed needs to be carefully checked.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone that when staying in small hotels, homestays and non-chain express hotels, we should be alert to whether there are candid photos, because even toilet brushes, hanger hooks and perpetual calendars may become candid photos. At the same time, in addition to pinholes such as sockets and smoke alarms, the position of the bed and the equipment in the bathroom, such as TV sets and routers, need to be carefully checked.
