Langjiu Group is a large-scale modern enterprise group which mainly produces and sells China famous Langjiu. The factory is located in Erlang Town, Gulin County, Sichuan Province. Langjiu started at 1903 and was produced on Chishui River, which is known as the "Chinese wine river" at the junction of Sichuan and Guizhou. It has a long history of 100 years from "Xuzhi Distillery" and "Huichuan Brewery" to "Huishalang Liquor" in Jiyi Brewery.

Langjiu is located in Erlang Town, Chishui River, and is located in the high-quality brewing area of Maotai-flavor liquor. Chishui River, known as the "River of Fine Wine" since ancient times, gave birth to two maotai-flavor liquors, China Maotai and Qinghualang. In addition, Langjiu also has Tianbao Cave, the largest natural wine storage cave in the world, which is full of fragrance and mature.

In the sixth year of Jianyuan (before 135), the "gourd sauce wine" produced by Erlangtan was named as tribute wine.

During the Northern Song Dynasty, Gu Lin aborigines began to make wine with Langquan water, which was called "Qu Feng wine" in history.

In the Ming dynasty, the "sand-returning process" of wine-making appeared along the Chishui River. In the Qing Dynasty, Erlang Town had more than 20 wineries and breweries, and there were hundreds of winemakers. Besides producing the famous "Qu Feng Liquor", it also brews various kinds of Qu liquor, white liquor, fruit wine and miscellaneous grains wine for local residents to drink.

In the 10th year of Qianlong (1745), Zhang Guangsi, the governor of Guizhou, expanded the salt transport channel and dredged the Chishui River. Chishui River, with a total length of 540 kilometers, extends from Tianguyan on the edge of Chishui River in the upper reaches to Simian Rock in the lower reaches (now Yuanhouchang in Chishui County). After ten years of dredging, all the other river sections are open to navigation except the section where Erlangtankou returns to Masangping for more than 30 miles. From then on, salt ships from Sichuan to Guizhou can go upstream from the Yangtze River, pass through Luzhou, Hejiang and Taipingdu, and reach Erlangtan transfer stack. With the shipment of Sichuan salt, some businessmen started selling salt, wine, cloth, department stores, wood, mountain products and other local products centered on Erlangtan. Erlangtan in the middle reaches of Chishui River has gradually become a lively riverside pier and material distribution center, and the small mountain village at the head of Erlangtan has also become a densely populated market town. Especially from the middle of18th century to the beginning of19th century, Erlang Town was full of businesses and numerous restaurants. The town has a population of 3,000 to 4,000, and there are nearly 30 large, medium and small salt boats. No fewer than 2000 people carry salt across mountains every day. There are also vendors and salt boats from south to north, and they have been busy all day in Erlang Beach. It is the frequent transportation of salt industry that has promoted the economic prosperity on both sides of Chishui River, brought the development and prosperity of local wine industry, and created favorable conditions for the birth of Langjiu.

In the 24th year of Guangxu (1898), Rongchang businessman Deng Huichuan came to Erlang town with his family and set up "Xuzhi Winery" in Erlang. The brewed wine is mellow and refreshing. In the thirty-third year of Guangxu (1907), Deng Huichuan renamed Xuzhi Winery Huichuan Winery, and hired Zhang Zixing, the master of Rongbi Winery, one of the predecessors of Kweichow Moutai Winery, to brew a kind of "Qu Feng Wine" on the basis of the original "Qu Feng Wine".

In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), Lei and other businessmen jointly established the "Jiyi New Winery", with the earlier winery in Maotai Town as the chief technician and Mo Shaocheng, the chief brewer of Huichuan Winery, as the chief brewer, to brew a wine that combines the two flavors of Huichuan and Maotai, including burnt flavor, ester flavor and maotai flavor.

According to Sichuan Economic Daily, Langjiu was expensive because of its high quality and delicious taste, with an annual output of only 40 to 50 tons. "A catty of Langjiu per can, the local price for one year of the Anti-Japanese War is 78 cents per can, and it sells for one yuan in Chongqing, Chengdu and other places."

1956, at the Jinniuba meeting in Chengdu, Premier Zhou said: "There is another Langjiu in Sichuan, which was famous before liberation. We should speed up its development! " At that time, the state-owned Sichuan Gulinlang Winery was established.

During the period of 1999, the State Administration of Quality Supervision and the Committee of Standard Samples took 39 types of Maotai-flavor Langjiu as the standard sample wines of China and China, and became the standard of Maotai-flavor liquor in China.
