Which is more worth visiting, Sichuan Museum or Chengdu Museum?

Compared with Chengdu Museum, Sichuan Museum is more worth visiting.

Chengdu Museum pays more attention to displaying the local historical and cultural characteristics of Chengdu, while Sichuan Museum accommodates the cultural essence of the whole western Sichuan region, such as the display of minority cultures and Tibetan Buddhism. Because the Sichuan Museum has a high level, it will hold higher-level special exhibitions from time to time, so it is better to visit the Sichuan Museum.

Sichuan Museum has a large collection of Mr. Zhang Daqian's paintings, especially copying Dunhuang murals. Zhang Daqian copied more than 200 Dunhuang murals, collected by Sichuan Museum 183.

Mr. Zhang Daqian's time in Dunhuang is limited, and most of it has not been completed. He took the copied paintings back to Sichuan, folded them up, boxed them and stored them in Zhaojue Temple, Shahe Village and other places. 1963, Mr. Zhang Daqian's family officially donated these cultural relics to the Sichuan Provincial Museum for collection.

Cultural relics on display in Sichuan Museum:

Sichuan Museum has collected a large number of exquisite bronzes unearthed from a series of major archaeological discoveries since 1950s, such as Xinfan Shuiguanyin, Sundong Dam in Baxian County, Baolun Garden in Zhao Hua, Zhuwa Street in Pengzhou, Yangzi Mountain in Chengdu, Baihuatan in Chengdu, Xiaotianchi in Fuling, Chongqing, Majiaxiang in Xindu, Sanxingdui in Guanghan, Jinsha, Maoxian and Xuanhan in Chengdu. The most distinctive and widely developed bronzes in Bashu area are all kinds of bronze border guards, including weapons and tools.

In addition, there are many inscriptions in special characters on Bashu bronzes, and symbols in the shape of palms, flower pedicels and tiger birds are cast. There are also some bronzes in Bashu area that are similar in style to the surrounding vassal countries. For example, the ritual vessels unearthed from the tomb of Jiuliandun in Xindu are similar to Chu vessels in shape and decoration.
