Nie Lei's downfall was quite dramatic.

According to the indictment of the procuratorate, at about 0: 00 on March 27th, a woman surnamed Gao organized four young women from the "New Art City Nightclub" to engage in prostitution in the hotel, and for some reason, she had an argument with the security guard of the hotel's "Wuhua Nightclub". Cai, assistant to the general manager of "New Art City Nightclub", informed Li's backbone of this matter, and Li instructed Cai to report this matter or serve as the backbone. Cai couldn't get in touch, so she found Ren. After that, Ren gathered dozens of people, brought machetes and sticks to the lobby of the hotel, and beat the guests who came to spend money. On the day of the murder, it happened that an international sports event was held in Qingdao, and all the domestic and foreign athletes who came to participate in the event were arranged to stay in Zhong Yi Hotel. This case with bad influence has attracted the attention of relevant departments. On that day, some troubled stablehand who participated in beating, smashing, looting and burning were fired one after another, and Nie Lei also came into the sight of investigators.

On September 7th of the same year, Qingdao Public Security Bureau announced that Qingdao police had destroyed a criminal organization suspected of triad nature headed by Nie Lei, and Nie Lei and 130 members had been brought to justice.

On August 20th of the same year, the Shandong Higher People's Court made a second-instance judgment on Nie Lei's triad-related case, ruled that the appeal was dismissed, upheld the original judgment, and submitted it to the Supreme People's Court for review according to law.

After examination, the Supreme People's Court believed that the facts ascertained in the first-instance judgment and the second-instance ruling were clear, the evidence was true and sufficient, the conviction was accurate, the sentencing was appropriate, and the trial procedure was legal. Nie Lei is a recidivist and should be severely punished according to law. On this basis, the Supreme People's Court approved the criminal ruling of the Shandong Higher People's Court according to law, and issued an order to execute the criminal Nie Lei.

On September 16, Nie Lei's mother, accompanied by her family, went to jiaozhou city Detention Center. After seeing his mother, Nie Lei burst into tears.
