Farmers in peasant cities have become new names and new missions.

Longgang City, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province was established. From "farmer town" to "town to city", this city, which was spontaneously "built" by farmers and "grew up" in a small fishing village, embarked on a new reform mission from the pioneering exploration of the masses. More than 30 years ago, Longgang, a small fishing village, welcomed a large number of farmers around it. They brought their own rations, built their own houses, started their own businesses, and accomplished the feat of farmers building cities in China. For more than 30 years, reform has become the most distinctive temperament of this land. Driven by the hybrid power of grassroots initiative and reform, market initiative and policy dividend, Longgang took the lead in launching three major reforms: household registration system, paid land use and development of individual and private economy, and achieved important results in economic and social development, administrative system reform and urban governance innovation, which provided a model for the comprehensive reform of small towns across the country.

Since the town was built in 1984, it has been listed as a national comprehensive reform pilot of new urbanization. Longgang, born and raised in the reform, keeps moving forward in the exploration of new urbanization, and the context of the evolving reform rings is clear. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee has made a series of major decisions and arrangements for further promoting new urbanization. The State Council's "Several Opinions on Deepening the Construction of New Urbanization" pointed out that a number of small and medium-sized cities should be cultivated and developed, and "conditional counties and mega-towns should set up cities in an orderly manner". When the "top design" meets the "endogenous power" of development, history once again chooses Longgang.

With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the provincial people's government and agreed to cancel Longgang Town in Cangnan County and set up Longgang City at the county level. The naming of a new city is just to open the paper and fill in the name. Longgang city should answer the new reform questions well. After the town is removed and the city is set up, Longgang should focus on innovating the administrative system, amplifying the reform results, breaking the path dependence, striving to achieve high-quality economic development and long-term social stability, and constantly improving the people's sense of gain and happiness.
