This place combines wonderful mountains, luxuriant forests, beautiful waters, and deep valleys. It can be called the "Shangri-La" of Hainan Island.
The Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Area is planned and designed by a world-renowned design agency and the most authoritative planning and design institute in China. The scenic spot fully takes natural beauty and tropical rainforest landscape as the main basic landscape, integrates excellent cultural concepts such as "tropical rainforest culture, Lidong culture, southern medicine culture, and zodiac culture" to build a "primitive green ecology"-based style. A high-end, high-grade, high-quality large-scale eco-cultural tourism themed tourist attraction. It is a cultural center with sustainable development that integrates sightseeing and vacation, experience and participation, leisure and entertainment. It is a comprehensive and complex ecological, cultural, leisure and vacation theme scenic spot with international standards. It is also the first comprehensive theme scenic spot in Hainan Province that fully displays and expresses the "green ecological culture" of Hainan's tropical rainforest. Traveling through Yanoda, you will be surrounded by clouds and fog, deep ravines, and dense springs and waterfalls.
The average annual temperature in Yanoda is 24°C, and the trees in the scenic area are lush and green, blocking out the sky and the sun. Walking in the rainforest, you will feel fresh and cool, as if you are in a green oxygen bar, even breathing becomes a kind of enjoyment.
As soon as you enter the scenic spot, you will be eye-catched by the tall traveler bananas on both sides. These herbaceous plants, native to the African island of Madagascar, are "burly" and about three or four people tall. Their stems are very thick, and part of them is swollen, forming a container that looks like a tablespoon, which can store several kilograms of water. Just making a small opening is like turning on a faucet.
The African desert is hot and dry. When travelers are thirsty and suffering from thirst, if they encounter this tree, they can cut its stems to get fresh water to drink. They are like friends of desert travelers, so they are also called "traveler trees". I didn't expect that such a beautiful plant would grow in the long yellow sand, and it would be so full of life that it's awe-inspiring.
Alocasia is much shorter than the traveler’s banana. It also has a beautiful Chinese name, “Drip Water Guanyin”. In the north, it is difficult to grow Dripping Guanyin. It is either too small or the leaves tend to wither and turn yellow. When it got here, it grew wildly, with green and fat leaves, like elephant ears dyed green. More than 1,400 kinds of trees, more than 140 kinds of southern medicines, more than 80 kinds of tropical ornamental flowers and dozens of kinds of tropical fruits make Yanoda full of unparalleled tropical style from head to toe. Towering giant banyan trees, wild sugarcane palms, Hainan oil fir trees, oil palms and large-leafed plants abound. Rare varieties such as century-old root vines, thousand-year-old ferns, fairy grass Ganoderma lucidum, and "cold-blooded killers" can be seen everywhere here.
Even more magical are the six tropical rainforest wonders, including the strangulation phenomenon, aerial flower baskets, flowers growing on old stems, climbing vines, tall roots, and roots wrapped in rocks. The most shocking of these is the "strangling plant". A long time ago, scientists discovered in the tropical forests of Panama that many small trees and vines around some large trees died one after another. After observation, it was found that the roots of the big trees had developed huge clubroots. They grew very fast and continued to expand in the soil, forming a squeezing force that destroyed the root systems of neighboring plants and even pushed their roots out of the ground. Other plants have no place to stand and die pitifully.
Such strangulation can also be seen in Yanoda. The seeds of the fig are eaten by birds and excreted along with their feces. After falling on the trunk or branches of the red pine, the seeds will germinate and take root, and the seedlings will grow into thick shrubs.
Later, many aerial roots with positive geotropism were born. Some aerial roots were attached to the trunk of the host, and some aerial roots hung down from the branches of the host. The descending roots gradually increased and merged with each other until it used its powerful woody roots. The net wraps around the trunk of the host tree. The canopy of the Ficus tenuifolia also increased and became more lush, covering the canopy of the host. The host was eventually strangled and decayed because it could not see sunlight and its own nutrients were sucked dry.
Strangler plants often end up as very tall trees in the upper levels of forests. The fierce competition between plants for sunlight and soil is shocking. It turns out that survival of the fittest not only exists among animals, but also among plants. This is the survival rule of nature. 1. Love nature and have a strong awareness of environmental protection; 2. Have team awareness and collective concepts, please follow instructions when taking actions, and do not leave the team without authorization; 3. This activity is of an adventurous nature and has certain risks, and participants are required to have A certain amount of physical strength and a spirit of self-help; 4. This activity takes place in the running water of mountain canyons, and the stone surface is slippery, so please pay attention to safety; 5. People with a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, habitual fractures, etc. are not suitable for this activity.
