Last August, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued a third-party payment license, and Alipay Hong Kong Company became the first payment license winner, which can provide digital financial services for local users. After half a year, Alipay HK finally appeared.

Previously, Hong Kong users could only use Alipay on Taobao. After Alipay HK was launched, it provided Hong Kong users with three services: code scanning payment, merchant discount and stamp collecting. In addition to the above basic functions, in the future, the Hong Kong version of Alipay will also open functions such as charging phone bills, paying water, electricity and coal, transferring money, taking a taxi and insurance. So that Hong Kong people's "cashless" life can be in line with the mainland.

At present, it includes Chow Tai Fook, Parknshop, Watsons, Fengze Electric, Sasha, Zhuo Yue, Giordano, Maxim's Cake, Ocean Park, etc. More than 2,000 well-known Hong Kong merchant stores have been connected to the Hong Kong version of Alipay, covering scenes such as department stores, convenience stores, supermarkets, hotels and theme parks.

In terms of overseas expansion, Ant Financial has developed local e-wallets with its partners in India, Thailand, South Korea and the Philippines, serving more than 200 million overseas users. With the release of Alipay in Hong Kong, the number of countries and regions that Ant Financial serves overseas will increase to six.
