Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park was founded in 1999, and officially opened to the public in 65438+February 2000, covering an area of about 20.67 hectares. The original site of the park is the tidal flat in the north of Shenzhen Bay, which was reclaimed for the construction of Binhai Avenue. In order to protect mangroves, the Shenzhen Municipal Government moved the Binhai Avenue, which was originally planned to pass through mangroves, to the north for more than 200 meters, and transformed the reclamation subgrade in the west into today's mangrove coastal ecological park. There are more than 240 kinds of cultivated plants in the park, among which there are many unique mangrove plants, such as semi-mangrove plants such as silver tree and hibiscus, as well as accompanying plants such as pandanus, Casuarina equisetifolia, lantana camara and paulownia. The green area of the park accounts for more than 90% of the total area, with green grass and coconut trees in full bloom, forming a south subtropical vegetation scenery with local native tree species as the main body.

Standing on the sightseeing road on the east side of the park, the 9-kilometer-long Futian mangrove forest forms a beautiful picture against the backdrop of high-rise buildings. Here, visitors can enjoy the unique ecological characteristics of mangrove plants at close range, such as "viviparous", "half root" and "aerial root". Looking around, the beaches on the sea are even more colorful. Abundant benthos such as fish and fiddler crabs attract many waterfowl, and more than 65,438+10,000 migratory birds stay or spend the winter in Shenzhen Bay every year. According to the investigation, there are 0/94 species of birds in Futian mangrove forest, including 23 rare and endangered birds such as curly pelican, black-faced spoonbill, green snipe, black-billed gull, white-shouldered eagle and brown-winged crow. 0/70 species of higher plants/kloc-,including 0/6 species of mangrove plants/kloc-,belonging to 9 families, mainly including Kandelia candel, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Aegiceras corniculata and Avicennia marina.
