How to extract essential oil

1, distillation, distillation is generally divided into two ways: steam distillation and water distillation. It is the most commonly used method to extract essential oil. 95% of essential oil is extracted by distillation. During steam distillation, most of the plant raw materials are placed on the sieve frame in the distiller, and the essential oil contained in the plant glands is released at the same time and evaporated into steam. When this mixed gas enters the cooling system along the duct, the steam condenses back to the liquid state, and then is separated into essential oil and flower water according to the difference of specific gravity and density. The method uses low pressure and temperature, and is suitable for heat-sensitive essential oils such as orange blossom and rose.

2. Cold pressing method. Cold pressing is an extraction method of extracting essential oil by squeezing peel manually or mechanically. Most citrus essential oils, such as oranges, bergamot, grape sleeves and lemons, are extracted by this method, because most citrus essential oils can't resist the heat of distillation and will destroy their essence in the process of extraction. At present, the extraction of peel essential oil is mostly replaced by mechanical cold pressing;

3, fat absorption method, put 1 piece of glass on the board, spread animal fat, spread petals, and so on, and extract essential oil with oil.
