Overview:

Bahrain World Trade Center (also known as Bahrain Trade Center or BWTC) is a two-tower building with a height of 240 meters (787 feet). The building is located on King Faisal Avenue in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, with a panoramic view of Bahrain Bay. This 50-story building stands next to King Faisal Expressway, and is adjacent to many landmarks, such as Bahrain Financial Port, Bahrain National Bank, Abraj Al Lulu and the famous scenic spot Pearl Tower. The building height ranks second in the country, second only to the Bahrain Financial Port Tower. The main body of Bahrain World Trade Center includes two 50-story twin towers with a three-story pedestal at the bottom, and its two triangular towers are 240 meters high. Three horizontally supported wind turbines with a diameter of 29 meters were installed between the two buildings. The wind convection before the sail-like building formed a two-story building accelerated the wind speed. Wind turbines are expected to support 1 1%- 15% of the electricity required by buildings.

According to the local major English media (2008)165438+1October 27th, the High-rise Building and Urban Habitat Committee in Chicago awarded Bahrain World Trade Center Building the Best High-rise Building Award in the Middle East and North Africa in 2008.

Bahrain World Trade Center is the first skyscraper in the world that integrates wind turbines with buildings.

The designer has set up a bridge with a span of 75 tons on the floors 16 (6 1m), 25th (97m) and 35th (133m) between the twin towers, and three horizontal axis wind turbines (Figure 6-7) with a diameter of 29m and their connected generators are fixed on these three bridges. The completion time is April 2008.

The cost of Bahrain World Trade Center is 96 million US dollars (35 million Bahraini dinars, about 700 million yuan), with a total construction area of 1 and 2096 1 square meter. In addition to office space and commercial facilities, there are hotels, shopping malls, cafes, restaurants and health clubs, as well as 1.700 parking spaces. Bahrain World Trade Center consists of two towers with the same appearance. The Twin Towers are more than 240 meters high and 50 stories high. They are oval in plane, sail-shaped, with smooth lines and strong visual impact. The dark emerald glass and white shell blend the building with the surrounding desert landscape and sea view.

More notably, three horizontal axis power windmills were installed between the 50-story and 240-meter-high office buildings, making the World Trade Center the first skyscraper in the world to continuously provide renewable energy for itself. These three power windmills can provide about1.200mwh (1.200mwh) of electricity every year, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of about 300 households.

At full load, the rotor speed of generator windmill is 38 revolutions per minute. Through a series of gearboxes placed in the engine compartment, the generator is operated at the speed of 1500 rpm to generate electricity. When the wind speed is 15-20m/s, the optimal power generation state is about 225 kW ... The fan rotor is 29 meters in diameter and made of 50 layers of glass fiber. When the wind is strong or it needs to turn to rest, the top of the wing will be pushed out, which will increase the total torque of the rotor and achieve the purpose of deceleration. The maximum wind speed that the fan can withstand is 80 meters per second, and it can withstand a category 4 hurricane (the wind speed is more than 69 meters per second).
