PaulKatz, chief designer of KohnPedersonFoxAssociates, said that when the hotel was originally conceived, it was designed to build a brand-new hotel, give Shanghai a new role, make it a global commercial and cultural center, and highlight the prosperity of the Han Dynasty.

In addition, considering that there are many lower buildings near Xintiandi around the hotel, which must be well coordinated with the hotel, the design is more challenging. PaulKatz pointed out that Xintiandi can be said to be a perfect example of the restoration of ancient buildings, and Shanghai Conrad Hotel must add icing on the cake to this land.

In the color system of building materials, the hotel uses gray granite, which reflects the gray brick and gray stone gate of Xintiandi low-rise building. The restaurant and cafe on the ground floor of the hotel face the central square, opposite to the surrounding outdoor cafes.

The curved walls and non-traditional window lattice make the hotel have a wider view and a panoramic view of the new world and this beautiful city. The whole hotel * * * uses 2900 hand-made windows, which are perfectly embedded and become a moving picture.

The interior decoration of the hotel also uses a large number of famous jade, bronze, lacquer and silk products in the Han Dynasty, which fully shows the elegance of the Han Dynasty. 362 rooms with unique design, the overall architecture and design are very eye-catching, which makes people feel that they are in the Han Dynasty.
