The Curse of the Mummy

Do you believe in curses?

Whether you believe it or not, I do.

The story originated from one of our archaeological excavations. Li Zu and I grew up together, and we both became archaeologists when we grew up. The mummies and funerary objects excavated at that time are all displayed in our studio. Li Zu was responsible for sorting out the mummies, and I was responsible for cleaning up the funerary objects. Strange to say, this mummy had been buried underground for hundreds of years. When it was dug out, the coffin was soaked in water, but this corpse was perfectly preserved. The skin of mummies is even elastic. Li Zu and I are working normally.

Suddenly he patted my shoulder and pointed at the mummy and said to me: "Zhang Zi, what do you think that is?" I looked in the direction of his hand. What's on this mummy? There are things that look like tattoos, but they are different from the style of tattoos nowadays. They are not tattoos of dragons and tigers, but they are incomprehensible ghost symbols. Li Zu cursed in his loud voice and asked: "What the hell do you have this tattoo on?" We joked a few words and started working again. We were busy until midnight. Li Zu sat on the stool with his legs crossed. I also sat down next to the funerary objects. I dozed off and wanted to lie down on the table and take a nap. Inadvertently, my hand touched the burial clothes and I found something in the clothes. I suddenly became energetic, and I stood up suddenly, making Li Zu tremble when he was just about to fall asleep. Li Zu slapped the table, pretending to be angry and said: "*** I was scared to death. I thought the mummy lying on the bed was getting up."

I didn't pay attention to him and hurriedly spread out the corpse. clothes to find what I just came across. There was a book hidden inside the clothes. It was in good condition but the cover was a little yellowed. I suddenly sat down again, swinging the book in my hand and said, "I thought it was some kind of treasure, but it turned out to be a broken book." After that, I threw the book on the table. This time the book turned to a page, and I stared at it for a long time. I broke out in a cold sweat, and after a while I came back to my senses. The book has a pattern that is exactly the same as the tattoo on the mummy, and it is also said that anyone who sees this pattern will be cursed. I quickly woke up Li Zu and showed him the book. He was stunned for a moment when he first saw it. Later he said that it might be a lie made up by the owner of the tomb to scare the tomb robbers. At first I believed his explanation, but what happened next was horrifying. The two of us fell asleep for some reason, and then I just wanted to go to the toilet.

I subconsciously glanced at the mummy, and it turned out to be sitting down. I was so frightened that I fell to the ground and shouted to Li Zu. Li Zu was awakened by my shout. The two of us picked up stools and approached the mummy cautiously. As we got closer and closer, the mummy made no movement. Then we lightly touched the mummy with the legs of the stool, and it fell down on the bed again. We are naturally connected with the curse legend, but my reason tells me that someone is playing a prank. I can only think this way, otherwise it would be too scary. For the next half of the night, Li Zu and I slept back to back for fear of another supernatural incident.

We finally waited until dawn, and we planned to move out. After a while we couldn't find a good place to stay, so we had to stay one more night. To be on the safe side and to embolden ourselves, Li Zu and I bought two baseball bats and a few bottles of liquor to embolden our courage. Neither of us dared to sleep next to this mummy, so we simply moved into the back room. Our studio is divided into two rooms, inside and outside. Unconsciously, night fell and we stopped what we were doing and hurriedly hid in the back room. What should happen will still happen. We drank and chatted. We looked at the mummy several times and everything was normal. Unknowingly, I fell asleep again.

In the middle of the night, Li Zu and I both wanted to go to the toilet because we drank too much. But we all heard movement outside the door. We both picked up baseball bats. We slowly moved to the door, and Li Zu took a deep breath and opened the door suddenly. It almost scared me to death. I saw the mummy standing straight at the door, his empty eyes staring at me. I was so scared that I screamed indiscriminately, and Li Zu was not much better. The mummy was still standing at the door without moving. Later we climbed out of the window. After climbing out we didn't just run for as long as possible until daybreak. After dawn, I spoke. I patted Li Zu on the shoulder and said, "Did you find anything wrong?" Li Zu was still in shock and looked around nervously.

I went on to say: "Every time we see something strange about the mummy, the mummy doesn't move. I guess someone wants to trouble us. We have to figure it out." I later comforted Li Zu in order to comfort him. We agreed to install a camera in the room where the mummies were kept.

We pooled our money to buy a video camera and crept into our studio at noon. We turned on the camera and put it at the top of the studio. We don't want to stay here any longer now, we are about to go out. When we look back, we see that the mummy has somehow returned to the bed and is lying quietly. We just want to get out of there now. After going out for a day and a night, we went back to get the camera. I walked in quietly, and out of curiosity I turned on the video and took a look. This looked like something was wrong. I saw from the video that the mummy sat up on its own after we placed the camera and left. It was very sluggish at first and then became very flexible in its movements. After a while, there was the sound of the door opening, and the mummy quickly lay down again. It was none other than me and Li Zu who came in. I was petrified as we turned around to find him sitting up. A mouth full of fangs. I summoned all my strength and yelled at Li Zu to run, but it was too late. The mummy rushed towards Li Zu, and Li Zu subconsciously gave the mummy a heavy punch. The mummy roared angrily.

I casually picked up the brass ornaments on the table and threw them at the mummy, but he blocked them with his arm. I turned around and wanted to run, but unexpectedly the mummy pounced on me. I smelled his stench, which almost took my breath away. Its fangs had almost touched my neck, and I would have died with just the slightest force. At this moment, Li Zu picked up a stool and threw it at the mummy. As expected, the mummy let go of me, and the mummy suddenly lost its fighting power and lay on the ground. But I bled when I fell just now, and the drops on the ground just soaked into the body of the mummy. Just as we were about to go out and escape, the mummy jumped up.

Li Zu was stunned. I pulled Li Zu and turned around and ran away. The mummy’s fangs were longer. The speed was faster, and after a while we were exhausted. He rushed over and grabbed Li Zu again, raised him high and hit him hard.

Li Zu is a fat man. If he hits me, I will praise him. I quickly got out of the way, and Li Zu was thrown to the ground heavily. Just as I was about to run, I fell down. The two of us were obviously no match for this mummy. I struggled back and touched the sewer manhole cover. I used my strength to open the sewer, but the mummy was ruthlessly torturing poor Li Zu. I motioned to Li Zu to crawl this way. When I got to where Li Zu was crawling, I pushed him into the sewer while the mummy was not paying attention, then lit a lighter and threw it into the sewer. I quickly got down with Li Zu, and the sewer pipe exploded. One arm of the mummy was blown out of the small water channel.
