Yungang Grottoes is one of the largest ancient grottoes in China. It is also called the three largest grottoes in China with Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes and Luoyang Longmen Grottoes, and the three largest stone carving art treasures in the world with Ajanta Grottoes in India and Bamiyan Grottoes in Afghanistan. The grottoes are excavated along the mountain, with a grand scale and imposing momentum, and the east-west stretch is about 1 km. Grottoes are divided into three regions: east, middle and west according to the natural mountains. There are 45 main caves and 209 auxiliary caves, and the carving area is1.8000 square meters.

2. Hengshan Mountain

Mount Hengshan, known as the North Mountain in the Five Mountains, is a holy place of Taoism. Ai 'an Temple in Hunyuan was built in Jin Dynasty (115 ~1234) and rebuilt several times in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The bright rooms in the temple have ceilings and algae wells, which are beautifully made. The four walls in the temple are covered with land and water paintings, and the characters are arranged layer by layer. The color is basically intact, with more than 800 figures of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. The architecture and large-scale murals of Ai 'an Temple in Hunyuan provide important historical materials for studying the folk beliefs of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.

6. Huayan Temple

Huayan Temple is named after the Buddhist classic Huayan Jing. The temple covers an area of 66,000 square meters and sits west to east. More than 30 single buildings, such as Shanmen, Puguang Mingtang, Mahayana Mahayana Hall, Prajna Tibetan Hall and Huayan Pagoda, are arranged on the north-south main axis respectively, with strict layout. Huayan Temple, with the nature of the royal ancestral temple in Liao country, has a prominent position. It is the earliest and best-preserved temple complex in Liao and Jin Dynasties in China, and it is also a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
