In the 26th year of Qin Shihuang (22 1), Wu County was established in Qin Dynasty, with Wu as the old capital. Since then, the Taiping area has been under the jurisdiction of Wuxian County.

In 696 AD, in the first year of Tian Tong's long live in the Tang Dynasty, Wuxian was placed in Changzhou County and separated from Wuxian County, and Taiping area belonged to Changzhou County.

During the Song and Yuan Dynasties (1078 ——1085), there were Du Bao (township), Da Bao and Bao in the county. Taiping area is Yidi Township, Changzhou County.

According to the analysis in the second year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1724), Yuanhe County is located in the southeast of Changzhou County, and Wu, Changzhou and Yuanhe County are under the jurisdiction of the same city. Taiping area belonged to Yidi Township (Li Jinsheng) in Changzhou County and Yidi Township (Li Jinsheng) in Yuanhe County until the end of Qing Dynasty.

In July 30, Qing Xiang County was divided into 15 districts. Today, Taiping area is under the jurisdiction of the second district (Xiangcheng District). The pseudo-district office is located in Xiang Town.

In March, 1956, Le 'an, Shen Xi and Qingyi townships were cancelled and placed in Taiping Township and Shenqiao Township respectively. Among them, Taiping Township includes Taiping and Qingyi Township, Huxi Village of Shenqiao Township, Lianzi Village of Baidu Township, Yu Jia and Niaochuan Village of Le 'an Township; Shenqiao Township includes the original Shenxi Township, Shenqiao Township (except Huxi Village) and six villages of Wang Jia, Lu 'an, Xia Wei, Xinzhuang, Chen Jie and Dazhuang in Le 'an Township. Taiping Township Government is located in Taipingqiao Town, and Shenqiao Town Government is located in Shenqiao Town. Taiping and Shenqiao Township are under the jurisdiction of Yangcheng District.
