If the Danish furniture that most people remember in the past has always been famous for its simple aesthetic characteristics and versatility, then
The light shows us that Danish furniture tends to be intelligent, resource-based and environmentally friendly, as well as exquisite and comfortable that perfectly blends into various environments and uses.
The huge portrait of verner panton in the atrium of the exhibition space is in harmony with a set of flowerpot lamps beside him. The combination of lamps, suspension and stairs scattered in the highlands adds a rich visual level to the whole space.
Hay displayed in the exhibition,&; The brand-new series products of Tradition, Stellar Works and Verpan are inspired by the expanding multi-culture and people's current mobile life, showing their different aesthetics and versatility.
The latest work of flowerpot series, FlowerpotVP9 portable desk lamp-the first batch of 200 in the world, which can be purchased on site-has become the focus of the exhibition.

More flexible
As far as adaptability to space is concerned, Danish furniture is reaching an unprecedented height. For example, Pandarine sofa, owned by Danish household brand HAY, perfectly combines the ultimate comfort and elegant aesthetics of the bed. Pandarine's adjustable hinged backrest can be adjusted to a suitable height at will to support various sitting postures.
It also has two unique handrails to choose from: a circular armrest reminiscent of a traditional couch; The other is the flat hinge armrest, which is as flexible as the backrest.
Another brand, Stellar Works, cooperated with the world-renowned design studio Nendo for the first time and released three unique new product series: Blend, Frame and Kite. Among them, Frame (with the same name as ours:) is a changeable L-shaped steel structure mirror. It can be hung on the wall to act as a shelf. It can also be personalized into a multifunctional combination of towel rack and cosmetic mirror. Two kinds of full-length mirrors can also use this shelf to form a floor-to-ceiling coat rack.

Classic reconstruction
The exhibition brought many classic series and master series products, which became more in line with modern aesthetics under the brand-new interpretation of many brands.
Rebel chair is HAY's iconic treasure series. It was originally designed by Dutch designer Friso Kramer for Ahrende in the 1950s, and then re-launched by Ahrende and HAY. This legendary work is characterized by its incredible comfort. It is also one of Kramer's most famous designs, which embodies Kramer's unique simple style and his pioneering use of materials, replacing steel pipes with curved steel plates.
Now, when this chair is produced by the same process again, the seat and backrest are made of the latest and more sustainable materials, which is a mixture of recycled plastic and brand-new ABS plastic. For decades, the ergonomic design of Revolt has changed with the changes of users, and it is still a part of HAY series.
Flower pot VP8, verner panton, 1968
The flowerpot lamp, which is popular in traditional product series, has always been a symbol of Danish design works. 1968, the famous designer verner panton introduced this lamp for the first time. The designer has made many sketches of flowerpot lamps, but the wall lamps have never been put into production.
Many years later,&; Tradition decided to launch this classic. The flowerpot lamp embodies the widely acclaimed designer's experimental method for household items. This lamp consists of a circular chandelier, which is hung on the hemispherical upper lampshade, and the switch is set on the base. Its futuristic outline breaks the boundaries of traditional design.
03
Sustained simplicity
The simple aesthetics of Danish furniture has always been amazing, and many products in this exhibition also fully reflect this feature.
Naoto fukasawa, a legendary Japanese designer, first introduced the PAO lighting series for HAY. Shenze's design embodies the unique aesthetics of aestheticism and simplicity, and PAO lamp is inspired by the lighting effect of Mongolian tents that illuminate the earth at night. Steel chandeliers, ivory glass chandeliers and glass table lamps come in various sizes. The bright round lampshade reminds people of the image of the fireplace and is a symbol of comfortable and warm "home".
Another new member of the lamp series comes from the PC series, designed by French designer Pierre Charpin. PC Linear is a sleek integrated chandelier with tulip lampshade, which presents a clean and modern design expression, so it is suitable for kitchen islands or above dining tables in various professional environments and family spaces.
Betty TK4 & ampTK5, Tao & Kallio, 2020
& The traditional brand Betty series was originally launched as a chair, named after Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen. When the two designers made up their minds to create an elegant furniture that can be easily used at home, they began to give priority to comfort. Now, it has been expanded to include benches with the same unique design features and solid structure. This seemingly lightweight bench can be easily used in any space. Its simple organic design is a natural continuation of Betty series.
04
Function first
The pursuit of functionality is also the preferred design DNA of Danish furniture. In many real life spaces, there are many armchairs and sofas used in halls and lounges, but the furniture design for narrow spaces such as corridors, elevator halls and entrances and exits is rare. The usual design idea is to reduce the volume of furniture.
Kite, owned by Stellar Works, offers new ideas. This compact armchair is designed for business and hotel space, especially for small spaces. The back of the chair is the highlight of this chair. It is perfectly connected with the seat, making the user feel more like leaning on a comfortable backrest. As two independent parts, the backrest and the seat can adjust the depth of the seat and the height of the backrest according to the size of the space and the customer's demand for privacy.
STACK series, Ruen studio
Neri &;, Creative Director of Hengxing Works; The folding chair designed by Hu is light and multifunctional, and adopts a thin tubular steel frame design. As a supporting design element of the chair, it has formed its own unique design characteristics on the premise of following the overall outline of the chair. Due to the application of 3D steel bending technology, this folding chair can be simply collected according to storage and space utilization when not in use.
05
Portability is highly valued.
This group exhibition also explores the application of lighting design in the contemporary background, and integrates many classic or modern lighting works into different scenes.
In particular,&; Tradition has brought a series of portable lights this year.
The flowerpot embodies Danish designer verner panton's experimental attitude towards household items. Now, this work has been transformed into a portable lamp. The designer specially designed it to be light and equipped with a USB charging cable, which can follow the owner from indoor to outdoor. The dimmer further enhances this flexibility, so its owner can make three different lighting settings according to his own mood.
? Mán series, OEO studio
Another product of Stellar Works, Mūn, designed by OEO Studio, is a series of lamps full of masculinity and industrial flavor, while full of feminine beauty and poetry, including table lamps, floor lamps and chandeliers. This year, independent floor lamps and charging lamps with heights of 145 cm and 170 cm have been expanded for indoor and outdoor selection. The charging lamp is equipped with a strong silicone belt, which is convenient for flexible use indoors or in the garden.
End of movement
An exhibition shows us that Danish home design takes life needs and aesthetic artistry as the starting point, functions and appearances complement each other, and technology and creativity complement each other, which is practical and meticulous. These "Danish spirits", which constantly innovate in manufacturing technology, constantly pursue the reproduction of immortal classic designs and create novel and unique contemporary works, are worth savoring.
Follow the light-chasing exhibition It is still in the exhibition period, and friends in Shanghai can go and have a look.
