Yongchuan belongs to Chongqing, located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and in the west of Chongqing. It is named after "the three rivers in the city meet with clear water, which looks like a seal script". It was founded in 776 AD. It is 55 kilometers east of Chongqing and 276 kilometers west of Chengdu, Sichuan.
